Sam and I ran our SR25s in a recent Rebback1 Combat Carbine2 class in St Augustine last week. The guns ran fantastic. In fact there was one drill he ran called the "whack-a-mole" where the instructor and AI would run down the line holding the ejection ports closed. This would induce a malfunction you had to clear before you keep shooting. Both SR25s would eject right past their trying to hold to port shut unless they were really pushing it hard. It was impressive. In addition, we had to sit out where we worked on clearing bolt over-ride malfunctions. Apparently, it is impossible to have a bolt over-ride malfunction on an SR25.
The class was very good and we really had a lot of fun shooting the big guns. Mine is an ECC, Sam has an EMC. I ran SR25 mags and a large variety of ammo including Magtech (with an AAC 762-SDN-6), PMC, Federal American Eagle, South African surplus, some German surplus, Winchester and Federal ball, shooting a total of about 850 rounds. Sam shot all Pmags and shot about 1100 rounds (I had less ammo and was trying to be conservative). Zero malfunctions, with the exception of those which were purposely induced. This was a carbine class and the guns were shot like it. Lots of rounds in a short period of time. Lots of standing, kneeling, prone and then up again. Lots of switching shoulders, and the heavier 762 guns took their toll on the both of us. Nothing unbearable, but by classes end, we were both sore and feeling it... in a good way. While tired, we were both all smiles and definitely had gratifying feeling after having finished a fast paced class with the 762's. The recoil of the gun really did not slow us down at all. I and others were paying attention trying to hear of either of us lagged behind on drills requiring multiple shots. That really never happened and I noticed on many occasions we were often the first to get shots cracked off. Each of us use the AAC dual port brakes, which helps with recoil substantially over the factory flash hider. Great class, and while it isn't likely I will be shooting the bigger gun in all the carbine classes I plan to attend this year, I know I will be using it at a couple more! Very fun. I'll only caption this one photo... We were shooting rollover prone on a range that had a layer of dead, cut grass over it. The brake from the gun blew the grass all over me, so I'm trying to get the grass out of mu mouth and off my face! Funny picture.

Pic from the range today. Rifle shoots incredibly well, I fought 25 mph winds today while sighting in, but still managed a couple sub moa groups. It loves Hornady custom match 168's. it actually shot port surplus really well as well! No issues or stoppages!
Unfortunately I had a bunch of groups like this! Friggin wind and flyers. Can't wait to get back to the range on a calm day!
