Just debating what light and red dot I want to throw on. Might make this a NVG capable setup. We will see how she runs with fiocchi 158 next week also. Then I'll throw some Gold Dots and HST in it and see if it runs. How is +P in this platform?

Here is a pic from yesterday, other two were acquired in the last 30 days also. It's been an expensive month but a good one.

Sweet!

Good choice on the RDB, you're going to like it.  There's a learning curve to those, run it hard and get it hot, and test your screws when you get home to find the ones that need locktight.  It's a very neat gun.

The sight height on your AR is ridiculous

Stribog looks clean and pretty.  Time to light it up!    Congrats, you're going to love it.

I'm tapped on fun money until my EE stuff sells.

System feels good.  Really would like a Lingle lower for the AR grip.

The mag button on this is useless.

Overall, feels good.

@lazyengineer, the RDB is my second one lol. I've had a black one a few years ago, love this platform.

Yeah the knock off unity mount is nice for NVG. Still need to throw a laser on it.

My last RDB I literally loc-tite'd every screw. I'll get around to doing it on this one too. I've got a sandman X on the way, so that will be going on the non adjustable gas 11.5" and I've got a 16" AR with rifle speed agb coming and I'll throw the Enticer on it.

Thanks bro, can't wait to put some rounds through it. I'll probably run a mag or two as it is just so I can see the difference when the KDG buffer and the 40 degree locking piece show up.

It shot well.  Sight-in was a breeze and I had about 1.5" on the reg at 25 yards.  Recoil is indistinguishable from some 9mm alternatives.

UMP mags arrived and, golly, do they look obnoxious.  Love it.

UMP mags don't drop free.  The factory mags do, and will hit ya in the nuts if you're fkin around with it on the couch.

It's nice to have variety and this is my first .45 in the PCC stable, but I think the jury is out about whether this is worth twice the cost per round for plinking.

That's awesome! I used to have a UMP plastiwelded (back in the 2009 time frame) and yeah, those mags are ridiculous. Maybe shave or use some sandpaper on the mags to help them drop free. I really want to get one. Would be my only 45 minus a USPc and USP full size. Got rid of the rest of my 45's, it just looks so damn proper.

Anyone try the newer G.O. USA made curved mags with the improved/enhanced feed lips and follower? I just received 2 today in the mail. The OEM curved mag jammed on me a few times. These new ones are supposed to handle hollow points and other ammo that the Stribog has had a problem feeding. I would post a side by side puc of the top of the mags,  but this site always wants me to post a website link and not a pic....

There is a guy on another form still having issues feeding hollows points with the newest black curved mags. Can anyone confirm that they did away with the retarded soft spring and tilting followers like they use in the smoke mags?

The tilting follower problem is what I cured by rotating the follower 180 degrees in the spring on my SP45A3 mags. Oriented this way the spring now pushes the front of the follower up instead of the rear. Don't know if the change would have the same effect on the 9mm mags.

The Stribog will always be particular about what hollow-points it likes.  Improved magazines can help, and I've found hollow-point profile bullets it loves that I trust.  But the nature of the double-stack feed system, the feed shelf thing, and the lack of a feed ramp, all centers around a gun that was designed for military applications - meaning FMJ bullet profiles.  And to run them hot - very very very hot, if you want.   But the double-stack concept and lack of feed-ramp means they are going to feed up and sideways into the chamber, and no feedramp.  Not every bullet shape is going to be as forgiving to that.
There are going to be hollow-points that Stribogs struggle with, and that's never going to fully go away.  As far as I can tell, this applies to basically all double-stack feed PCC's, to various degrees.

There is one option.  If you want to feed hollow-points, Glock magazine lower will be your best bet as that is a single feed system that is more directly right up into the chamber, and likely will be more reliable with open-mouth irregular profile shape bullets.

Very true. It just was never ment to feed Hollows, but after converting to MP5 mags a few years ago it fixed my hollow point feeding issues. I can litteraly feed it anything and everything though that basturd which is awesome.

In my own experince, I have found that the Gen 1 and Gen 2 mags are total fail with most hollow points.  The Gen 3 do much better.  But still will be particular.

Specifically, mine hates conically shaped bullets

It loves and runs 100% with these

Which have more of a curved ogive and smaller cavity, like an FMJ profile.

Also, last round will be the most difficult.  So in your testing, start with just running 2 rounds per mag.  If it does well, it will do well.  I sometimes will run an FMJ as the bottom round to mitigate, but now that I found bullets it likes and run Gen 3, that problem has gone away and I just run it full.

Thing about a Stribog, is you can run that thing to .357 magnum power levels if you want to, it's that strong.

My 3 stage dampers were being sold about a year before HBI released there's. Most like the HBI one because its cheap. We have serval customers though that have switched from the HBI buffer to mine as it is still the king of eliminating recoil and eliminating rail peeing. I say just buy what you can afford though.

No because the SP45A3 is already short stroked from the factory so it would just shorten the stroke even more, then you would lose LRBHO. If you picked ups a factory buffer from an SP9a3 and used that it would work.

I have the hbi one and the 40 degree LB. I don't have a ton of rounds through it so l don't see any rail damage/peening yet. If yous offers additional buffering and protection l don't have a problem replacing it with yours if you think it will be beneficial.

Thats because of the shorter stroke. Without it you would damage the rails after a while which is why they recalled them a few years ago to switch to the 45. Alot of people are not aware of that especially new guys just getting into the Stribog.  Basically when its short stroked the roller delay can not function as good, but it saves the rails.  You will most definitely benefit more with my kit vs HBI's because it gives it that extra bolt slow down that you don't get with any other short stroke buffer.

For those that suppressed their SP9A1s, what suppressors do yall recommend and are there any parts to look out for or replace prior to suppressing it? Not new to the Stribog but new to suppressing a direct blowback gun.

Gotcha. I as planning on grabbing an R9 in the very near future. But I wasn’t sure regarding back pressure and the A1 being direct blowback instead of delayed like the A3.

I run the Resilient RS9 suppressor. It was made just for this platform. HUB compatible, user serviceable, low back pressure, all that I looked for in a suppressor.

Current hollow.  older solids.  Mine is solid.  I beat the shit out of it on a wild hair and tried to see if I could hit M1 Carbine power levels.  I got to 1630 FPS with 124 gr and the brass was blowing primers.  Gun and roller took it fine.  It was a solid roller.   I got well into hot .357 Magnum power level with 9mm in that Stribog, but not quite M1 Carbine level.  I backed off, probably not a great long term plan.  I will say wow, that gun is damned strong.
