I have been using an AAC M4-2000 on my shorty SCAR for the last year, no issues. But I just got the call my stamp came in for a Surefire RC2 5.56. Is one better than the other for BCG life or is it more of a run whichever you feel like. Six of one, half a dozen of the other. |

RC2 has less back pressure than the AAC. However, it all depends on the gas jet you are running in your 10.5” barrel. Was yours a chop or just the factory 10” barrel? And BCG group life is not an issue. It will be the rear receiver taking the pounding if the bolt speed and impulse are excessive. |
Factory stock barrel the Surefire is better due to the reduced back pressure. However the higher back pressure of the M4-2000 can be fixed with a reduced gas jet. And come on. The SCAR was practically created with the M4-2000 in mind. Granted with an 18 tooth vs 51 tooth mount. The AAC cans have a distinct look that goes hand in hand with the SCAR.
