I had a p07 sitting in the back of the safe that hadn’t been used in a long time. Did a have ass cleaning in it about a year and half ago and set in the safe. I took it out yesterday to give a through cleaning and the carbon was pretty well caked on. It wasn’t coming off with with normal methods of solvents and still was a pain with a brush. I picked up some kg2 to get a good cleaning. Bottle says to use with a bronze brush for stubborn deposits. I ran a bronze brush wrapped in a patch to get the barrel an initial wipe. Followed by 15 strokes of bronze brush only. Then ran dry patches through. I repeated the process again and scoped the bore and it was shiny clean. When I got the chamber I noticed a ton of fine scratches running length wise down the chamber. Is this from the bronze brush combined with the kg2? I know it is a mild abrasive and should be used sparingly. The bore looks fine and doesn’t have scratches in it so not sure how the kg2 and bronze brush would scratch the chamber and not the rifling in the bore. | My guess is the scratches were already there and cleaning it exposed them. Just a theory. Polishing it back out should not be a problem. |

If you just grab a light and look at the chamber you can’t see them. It is only with a scope so they can’t be deep |

It is only with a scope so they can't be deep I do this pretty much daily to weekly so maybe I have learned the touch to it but the cotton based buffs on amazon (coned shape for ramps standard straight for the chamber) (they came with the Dremel too) and jewelers rouge is how I do it followed up by a new buff until clean and like a mirror. This has worked well on everything I do so far and makes 1911's more reliable on ones that only like ball ammo. I go at low speed with not much pressure and take my time. If inside a chamber it may leave behind some of the rouge or whatever your choice of compound is so clean it well. |

I ran about 150 rounds down it over a year ago it ran fine and then I stashed it away. I will probably put another 200 down it before I consider it good to go. My best recommendation for anyone looking to scope your bores, don’t.  All it does is make you see shit that you normally wouldn’t see and then question your everything you see.
