I've been looking to establish a cabinet with a lock for the purpose of storing ammunition. The size of the Agile is great for the space I'm looking at, but my question is concerning weight. I currently own the Answer 12, and my question is for anyone out there that currently owns the Agile: would it work to store ammunition in as it's not welded like the Answer 12. The larger shelves available from SecureIt are rated on the website for 60lbs. That's really not a lot of weight and would be over the max weight with just two 30 cal cans of ammunition... Does anyone know of sturdier shelving that would interface with SecureIt's wall system? Does anyone have any alternative cabinets that can deal with the weight of 4 to 5 30 cal cans per shelf? Left side of the cabinet is those yellow bins from Lowes or Menards that each hold mags for a certian gun EX: Glock 17/34 Glock 22/35 Glock 21 CZ Scorpion Evo MAC-10 AR-9 Ruger 10/22 Ruger 22/24 AR 20 Rnd AR 30 Rnd AR .308 The right side of each shelf is stacked with boxes of ammo, stacked by caliber. The very bottom shelf has 2 layers of 30 and 50 call Ammo cans. I'll admidt the bottom shelf is-int real happy and is bending a bit. I plan to empty it, but blocks of some sort under the bottom shelf, then put everything back in. The cabinet itself has a locking door, but I added a hasp and a 6 digit code lock, that my wife knows in case of need, but none of the kids or grand kids know. I plan to add a second and just put mags in one and ammo in the other to increase storage capacity. |

It's looking like I might have to do something similar, and just jury rig support systems in the middle of each shelf, because it's a lot of ammunition and the resulting weight. I was very happy with the SecureIt product that I had so I was looking for other solutions from them. Found they have a welded ammunition cabinet but the shipping is over $500. Lol it's absurd. |

In order I shoot a ton of 9mm, mostly Subs at my home range out back, or supers at the Gun club/Comps .22 .300 Blk Subs .308 I rarely shoot any 223/556 or 12guage. I think they are 1 layer on top of the other, I don't think the cabinet is deep enough for 2 rows of ammo boxes front to back. Kinda why I'm feelin cramped for space and wanting a 2nd cabinet. Shipping on these things is nuts. With the Weight and size, they almost need to pay a 2nd guy for safe handling. I got mine when my office was doing some remodeling and said to throw it away, because it was not the right color for the new do.... I got permission and took it home. Been in my basement and on the 2nd house now. I had a line on 2 more for 50.00 ea, but I could not get to them till the end of the week and someone else snaked them...  So, still got my eyes open for leads. |
