the rear of the receiver is anchored. there is a stainless bolt going thru the stock, thru the rear trigger pack pin hole, and thru the receiver. locks all these pieces together. rather than have a nut showing on one side and a head showing on the other, I found these little gems at lowes to cover them up. anchoring is similar in principal to bedding the rear of the rifle. the front is also pillar bedded on the factory screw. honestly, its really not needed on this rig (as its not a "precision" rifle), but I love to tinker with stuff, so I did it anyways. to be brutally honest...IMHO...its a 22lr, so I dont really care if its shooting single ragged holes at 50yds. I built the rifle for fun, and to have fun with it. mission accomplished. |

More info on it here: www.ar15.com/forums/topic.html?b=3&f=4&t=332055 I only fired a few rounds without hearing protection and I would say that it is hearing safe, below 140db, but I wouldn't shoot all day long without hearing protection. |
This is a CZ 527 Varmint Kevlar .223 shortened to 20"(from 24') and threaded 1/2"-28 for an Advanced Armament Corp ratchet mount flash hider. Right now I am using a Phantom style flash hider to mount the 416-SD suppressor but I also have a Blackout flash hider for it. The Leupold MARK 4 M3 6x40, one of the best all around scopes ever made, is mounted with CZ 30mm rings. With the suppressor mounted it balanced perfectly for offhand shooting. This is a pretty light package because of the mini-Mauser style action and medium-heavy profiled barrel. It doesn't hurt that the suppressor is only one pound. The barrel just fits inside the skirt of the flash hider, about 0.770" diameter at the shoulder off the top of my head.

These were taken this afternoon. First pic shows it cluttered with a bunch of shit - Harris bipod, RDP-II, Aimpoint, Centurion CR sights, tab gear codura/nomex suppressor cover, TLR-1, etc. Second picture is how it really looks most of the time as a bedside home defense gun - C4 sights, TLR-1, and suppressor. Pic 3 is if I wanted to really mess my hearing up by shooting indoors...

Thank you ADCO! They cut me a 4" 9mm barrel threaded 1/2x28 for my YHM Wraith. 19.33" OAL without suppressor, and 25.8" with suppressor.    ETA How could I forget one VERY important upgrade! The bolt decal.

I just saw this-here's a crappy picture for you.  Apparently AAC has changed the spec of the contour needed for the mount. I checked to ensure that there someone didn't misread anything at GAP and sure enough-the contour matches the specs provided by AAC online to a "T". Unfortunately, this isn't something that I'll be sending back to GAP to fix as it's not their fault. I'll be taking it to Patriot Arms as they are local to me and hopefully he can get it done quick for me. |
