https://www.taurususa.com/firearms/pdw/rpc/ Looks pretty official. Was one of the PMESP tender guns like the Kuna. Basically the Brazilian Kuna, priced the same to boot. |

You must be thinking of the HK416/417. The HK MP5 is most certainly roller locked delayed blowback, as are the G3 and HK33, as well as other variants and clones. No idea why you think this Taurus isn’t roller locked either. Aside from Taurus saying it is, the video clearly shows a HK style bolt with side mounter rollers and a locking piece to set the angle (delay). |

HK, & this Taurus, use ROLLER DELAYED BLOWBACK. Very different systems, the only thing in common is they have rollers. Delayed blowback systems do not LOCK. The bolt begins moving as soon as the bullet does. |

Lots of people use roller locked and roller delayed to mean the same thing, so I’m not sure it really matters to anyone. It’s almost like the the clip vs magazine debate. |

It’s almost like the the clip vs magazine debate. I don't think its pedantic to want to use accurate terms, words mean things. Why use the term 'locked' for a non-locking action? Might as well call a simple blowback a delayed blowback, those two systems are about as similar as roller delayed vs roller locked. Pedantic would be like correcting someones use of 'buffer tube' to 'receiver extension' since there's no confusion on exactly what we mean by the term 'buffer tube'. |

| The quick change barrel is nice, that 32 rd mag looks looooong though. I bought a Lynx Defense Policy to tote my Kuna around in a plain jane Jansport backpack, it barely fits with the mag inserted and an optic, the Taurus look like it wouldn't with that mag. |

Don’t know as there is no picture, just a listing. Hoping that it’s actually shorter. The American Rifleman review lists the 20 round mag as “compact”, but no pics. |

I’m curious what the legal serial numbered “receiver” will be. The FCG parts are in a metal frame that’s placed into the polymer lower, and has an engraved serial number that’s visible through a window in the polymer lower. I’ve seen references to the “serialized chassis” and some photos where there are no other serial numbers visible except the one visible through the window. I’ve also seen other photos showing serial numbers on the side of the upper and the bolt, in addition to the window in the lower. If the ATF considers the internal FCG frame the official serialized “receiver”, that could complicate SBR engraving. This dropped today. At about 4:20, the Taurus rep says the FCU chassis is the serialized part. Also says that they moved away from AR trigger parts. That blows. ![]() The NEW Roller-Delayed RPC 9mm From Taurus |

I’m intrigued by this gun. Could definitely see myself buying one once the actual prices and specifications are made available not just the recommended prices. What’s the actual street price gonna be? How much are the magazines gonna cost and will they be readily available? Switch barrel is nice but how much are replacement barrels gonna cost? If they had stuck with the AR trigger parts would have been nice and convenient. Wonder why they changed? |

If they had stuck with the AR trigger parts would have been nice and convenient. Wonder why they changed? People are already getting them in the $700-$800 range minus the brace. Prices I would assume would be pretty reasonable for parts. My guess is they probably wanted it to be a Taurus product? Nothing wrong with Priority as long as its good. Time will tell. |

Three most important questions that will allow this to dominate the PCC market: -will it work with an frt/ss -does quick change barrel system mean you can swap to longer barrel on same chasis -if so, will they release an SD barrel too Competition is done if they could meet all 3 of those things - it will also mean Im in for one! |

I’m surprised more people aren’t really excited about the idea of a true MP5 (the action) clone with updated controls like an AR. From the videos I’ve seen a new lower by Nexus/Lingle/etc would be able to accept the serialized chassis, but we won’t know until someone gets their hands on it. That would potentially fix the “proprietary mags” issue as well as open up FRT options. I’d like options for other mags because I think the mags are some of the ugliest I’ve ever seen! And I have a ton of scorpion mags already. I assume the lack of excitement or interest is due to the “Taurus” part of it, which i get..but at a street price of under $1k you get - Real MP5 type roller delay (not the Stribog or Kuna type - which is inferior IMHO - I have both MP5s and SP9A3) Up to date controls with LRBHO, AR grips Ability to change barrel length Ability to change handguard length Includes lockers for suppressed and unsuppressed And maybe- AR trigger options FRT trigger options Magazine type options I’m actually pissed that no other manufacturer has done this and instead just gives us direct blowback or for a premium they give us “the MP5 at home” type recoil reducing option. I’m getting one of these for sure. I’d prefer an SD version, which is possible thanks to its design, but I’ll take a 6-8” option for the weight and recoil reduction and I’m betting it’s the closest thing to a full size MP5 (as far as recoil) as you can get. Now, it’s Taurus, so maybe they’ve already fucked it up, but for what it’s offering I’d have bought this over my Stribog SP9A3 in a heartbeat…it’d be better than my MPXs suppressed I’m betting. Time will tell but I’m very hopeful as it seems Taurus hasn’t taken this lightly. |

With the FCU being the serialized part, how much jiggery pokery will be involved in getting a FRT/SS to work in the RPC? This seems like a added hurdle to me compared to some of the other lower/fcg parts swaps available for other PCC's. Still the RPC seems like a good value with some nice features to boot. |

Will Taurus sell complete parts kits w/o a bit of sheet metal you have to fold & drill to make your own FCU?

This deficiency is understandable given how recently FRTs have become established vs. how long it takes to bring a new firearm to market. Unfortunately, this is going to be a showstopper for a lot of folks, including me. It’ll be a while before the FRT companies figure out how to FRT the RPC’s serialized chassis - if it’s even possible. |

I really like the Roller Delayed weapons. The simplicity and versatility of the RPC with the quick change barrels and the serialized part being the trigger pack. I hope Taurus hit a home run with this and it turns out to be reliable and durable. They opened up lots of room for growth for aftermarket grip housings that could accommodate lots of different magazine options. I always wondered why manufacturers didn't jump on a modernized roller delayed PCC before. Of course the arfdog thinkers always said it was because roller delayed systems were complex and to expensive to produce. Like they tried to tell me 9mm couldn't be made P365 sized because it was to powerful for such a small package. Taurus deserve lots of respect if the actually pulled this off! |

I would imagine they will be available soon, I am sure it is the typical issue of planning for a launch date and one little hiccup slows everything down (happens to all companies from time to time) I would expect to see them start appearing in the next month or so. At the price point and with a locking action, I think these might be pretty hot. Sven Manticore Arms |

Their older revolvers were great but the new ones have many issues, even more so than other brands, from my experiences-sight channels off center on their "J frames", front sight off center, crane binding, etc.. The customer service is also something to be desired and has been for quite some time. I did have a great G2C pistol a while back that functioned quite well but the prices are increasing on their guns and at some levels, you are better off with something else. Who knows how well this system will work. The last entry into the game- the CT9 didn't fair too well. Granted it answered questions nobody asked- fixed thumb hole stock, low capacity with proprietary mags, high price-at least initially, etc.. Maybe this one will be better. |
Be the change you want in this world.

Hopefully that signals they are on the way to dealers/retailers at this point and they have a good idea of the pricing. |

| This looks really promising, uses basically an identical roller delay setup as the mp5, unlike stribog or kuna. I have terrible luck being an early adopter though. Has anyone handled one? Is the recoil impulse more on mp5 level than kuna or stribog? I’m also wondering if the brace attachment (looks to be picatinny) is attached to aluminum or plastic? I don’t like polymer stock attachment points. Trying to decide if I wait for this or go with a new lower for ap5p. |
