Long story short, I'm feeling like I'm losing my mind on this one. I took the bolt and firing pin out to clean my tavor, reinstalled the bolt, firing pin, and firing pin spring (making sure the firing pin is in the moon cut in the housing and flat side of the pin facing up), spring is inserted from the front of the bolt face with the fat end of the firing pin spring facing the firing pin, installed the bolt, and cross pin. Now the hammer drops, but the firing pin does not protrude enough to hit a primer. Any advice on what I may have done wrong on reassembly? I feel like I'm losing my mind here, I've reassembled and disassembled the assembly several times in trying to find out what I did wrong and can't find anything, not even damage to the parts. The rifle maybe has 250rds through it. |

Nothing like debris or a blown primer in the locking lug area? Yup, it's completely clean. The only other thing I've done with it was installing a Geiselle trigger and sear pack, but I can't see how that could change anything in regards to this. I even dropped a fired round into the chamber (after covering the primer in black marker) to see if there are any impacts since I couldn't see anything on a snap cap. Nothing there either. The only thing I can think of is that the small end of the firing pin spring was partially inside of the bolt tail when I bought it. I'll try that a bit later tonight and report back. |

I took everything apart and think I discovered the issue. The firing pin spring is stretched out so it’s not sliding inside the bolt when the hammer hits the pin. It’s giving 2mm or so of solid resistance instead. Now to wait for the components to come back in stock to see if that’s the fix. I’m a little annoyed but not horribly surprised given the deal I got on this rifle. (It was rusty and kind of abused)

| Unrelated to your issue, but while you have the bolt apart, you might want remove the extractor and check the condition of the extractor's polymer "gum-drop" (i.e. what it uses instead of an extractor spring). Mine had degraded and flattened out and was providing minimal force on the extractor. |
