Specifically the "Wyatt Earp" .45 Colt. I picked one up today for a steal... $250.00 but have never owned any western style pistols. I assume these are well made? I assume they can shoot any .45 Colt ammo? Now I need a western rig...

| For $250, you done good! I acquired a Cimarron Pistolero in .45 Colt to satisfy an itch after seeing "Hostiles" (and "Tombstone") too many times, lol. Color case hardened frame and the 4.75" barrel, which I know is not US Cavalry accurate, but the price was too good to pass up. It's a powderpuff to shoot with the standard off the shelf Federal 'Blue Box' 255gr LFN and Cowboy Action loads but not meant for the heavy +P boutique loads. Underwood makes a 255gr hard cast SWC at a published 1,000fps (about 985fps from my gun) that is safe in these guns but feels a little stout. |

Great deal! Cimarron is essentially the premium version with more options and quality control of uberti or pietta revolvers. $250 is a good deal for a modern Italian saa assuming decent condition ETA: yes shoot anything but 45 “ruger only”. That was made for ruger blackhawks and “Old” vaqueros that have extra strength cylinders and frames. Them and the high pressure ammo for them aren’t too common these days. Any off the shelf or normal pressure hand loaded 45 colt is safe in your revolver |

Pietta's current offerings, as shooters, are in every respect the equal of Uberti, and Pietta has closed that gap considerably since Covid. That said, you did get a good deal! |
