Nice rifle! Looks like an Augusta Arsenal rebuild (the AAV stamping) with a low wood stock. The barrel is most likely not original as Inland used their own inhouse produced barrels. The rear adjustable sight could be original if the Inland SN is above 5,000,000 (which I think was 1945). The type 3 bayonet lug was not added to M1 production unit late 1944, so it could be original if the inland is above 5M. If not, both were probably done at rebuild, as was the barrel. |

As mentioned, looks like a standard postwar rebuild. There is a slight chance the barrel is original since while Inland did make their own barrels they also shipped barrels between contractors to meet production levels. Shoot it and enjoy. I would change the springs and bolt extractor if it was mine but I do that all USGI Carbines I get |
