Anyone have a source for 1.245" diameter cones? I am thinking I could improve my suppressor performance by using 60 degree cones versus spacers as I have now. The place I originally purchased from exited the business as one may imagine. Form 1 already approved in July!
Thanks! |

| Alternatively, I would consider trying to form my aluminum milled baffles/cups but I don't want to ruin them... Anyone have experience with this? |

I'm almost done with my can. Just got it back from being cerakoated. I chose their hi-temp Tactical Gray color. Now I have a few questions.
I am using a DM titanium 7.5" long 1.5" O.D. tube with 1.375" I.D. DM titanium griffen adapter DM titanium stepped coned end cap I also have a 4" chunk of the DM titanium spacer material on hand. My plan was to build a suppressor for shooting .308 out of a ar10, .308 bolt action, 8.5" 300blk ar15, and a 5.56 ar15. I am planning on buying the Griffen 2 chamber brake for the 7.62 guns and the flash comp for the 5.56 guns. I read a lot of these threads already and my question is on baffles. I will be using titanium cones from zmachineworks in their 1.372" diameter. From what I have read, it looks like I will need about a 2.4" spacer for my blast chamber. The cones have a .67" skirt. Without having the can in front of me to measure the endcaps and inner tube length, it looks like I will be able to only fit 6 cones in the can and I will have to find a way to get rid of as much as .2" of excess play inside. Should I be using something else for the first blast baffle? Is this thing going to hold up to anything the guns I have listed will send out? Shoild I go to a minimalist brake so I can add an extra baffle? Should I do the radial shaped or the normal cone shaped baffles from zmachine? |

When I was winding down my job before the effective last day, I put everything into a MicroSoft OneNote document and zipped it up.

| So I am new to this thread but I’ve read for a few hours now for knowlege... I know what I’m wanting to do might be received poorly by y’all but I really want to replicate the knights armament NT4 QDSS Suppressor. I have already used CAD programs and designed a model that would work but need some insight on constructing the blast baffles out of stainless rather than inconel like in the actual can. This will have to be a welded can so I need to make it out of baffles that will have some decent longevity on a 10.5” SBR. Thanks and I’m looking forward to sharing my progress on this thread in the future. |

| I'm in the same position. I have an approved Form 1 for a .308 can of 8.6" in length... and don't even know where to get started with building it. |

I believe you have 3 year to get a refund for items not built. Did this myself several years ago. At this point with all the options out there not worth messing with building. |

Form1.org is the place to find the information you seek. Originally Posted By Wmcray: At this point with all the options out there not worth messing with building. I'm not sure how you can justify this. Do you mean only those w/o the knowledge and tools, and are relying on "solvent trap parts/kits"? I can have a new, all titanium, centerfire suppressor made in under a week, for ~$200. And, now that form1's will be free, I can justify making replacement parts as quick as forms are processing. |

It lasted 3 shots. I'm very lucky I found the rest of it down range. ETA: FWIW, sub zero responded quickly and is sending me a replacement. They say a new guy over-bored some tubes then welded in the inserts. They said it only happened with 5.5x1.625 tubes and that they caught most of them before they got out to the public. ETA 2: I just checked a 6.5" tube that I bought from them but haven't finished. If that has a welded or glued insert, they did a really good job blending it. It looks solid to me. I think that their story about the new guy is probably the truth. ETA 3: just adding this to be fair to SZ since I was really pissed off when I initially posted. SZ has already sent me a tracking number for a new tube engraved with my info. I can say without doubt that they have excellent CS. Assuming that the new tube is one piece like it should be, I am happy with the resolution. Attached File |

| I would think with the favorable court rulings and the general direction things seem to be heading, that manufacturers might start picking up on the production of tubes, undrilled baffles, etc.. Salad days coming again? |
