| They ship a lot of product thats not built correctly. Things like doors that are not hung properly, which makes them sprung. 3" x 1" areas of bondo that have fallen out on the door frame that they wanted us to cover up with a fire seal. Them and Cannon are probably the worst warranties I have seen when it comes to getting them to stand behind a product. |

That safe wont crack a foundation. I bet the graffunder in my avatar weighs more, and its a 1/3 of the size.
You guys realize that yellow superior safe was just a novelty thing they did right? Its not heavy gauge construction, or even well fire rated. It probably only weighs around 2,900 Lbs. |

The Gorilla glue is messy and ugly and would try to push the pieces apart as it cured. The ceramic magnets were no where near strong enough to support a rifle. I was very happy with Version 2.0 which used rare earth magnets and Loctite epoxy. Several of the rods have come apart though, and I found my machine gun laying against the wall of the safe the last time I opened it. 
The rods are coming apart at the junction between the magnet and the wheel. The wheel to dowel rod joint has held up fine. I am going to play with a stone and see if I can rough up the magnet's surface before trying again. |

Well, I ended up going with a 36x27x72 Sturdy safe. Got the fire lining, extra layer of 7ga steel on the sides, 10ga instead of 14ga liner on the inside as well as the stainless plate on the door to protect the locking mechanism. I had previously looked at AMSEC BF and even the RF safes, but I just could not justify the cost. Not to mention the weight of the RF was prohibitive to moving the damn thing where I wanted it. Anyway, here's pics:

People love Sturdy Safes on this board. They look pretty decent...7 gauge steel and all. How much are you guys paying' for them, if you don't mind me asking?
Check out this hulkin' bastard. It's the Gibralter from Sportsman Steel. They use it on the Price is Right...claim it holds 300 guns. It's around $10K - bit out of my current price range.

Ha! I didn't even notice those casters.
Volume wise, it's 3 times bigger than a Browning platinum, which at 7 gauge steel is around 1700 lbs. That said, my guess is the Gibraltar is somewhere in the neighborhood of 5500 lbs...I guess I could just email them and find out, buuuut I don't really care. |

I am a CHRISTIAN, a CONSERVATIVE, and a REPUBLICAN... in exactly that order, and completely without apology.
SturdySafe 3627-6, no fire. Added fluorescent lights under each shelf and the recess above the door. Made a platform for the floor to raise it above the bolt heads that secure it to the floor. DryRod in recess under door. The previous owner of my house left some cheesy gold tinted, plastic mirrors on a wall downstairs, used those on the back wall after seeing a mirrored Browning. I didn't care for the factory racking, the rack to the left near the wall was too close, made it unusable, the others were spaced too close together, I got the max rack, prolly shoulda went with the hunters...so I made my own. Four rows of 11 slots, 44 total. Slots are 3.25" on center, my Liberty and Zanotti were both 2.5", but left rifles a little close together, had to skip slots on occasion. The door has potential for more storage that I need to realize. The SturdySafe pistol holder is pretty nice, but I wouldn't trust it to hang onto big revolvers in a vertical position.
