Ive read here and there about folks having issues with end caps coming off, and adapters on main suppressor threads backing out too.

What is the consensus on applying thread locker to any threaded parts on a suppressor?

And also, is Rocksett the preferred thread locker to use since it has high heat resistance?

I'd recommend it.  My can doesn't have a removal end cap but I did use Rocksett to attach a Griffin Plan-A to my Turbo K.

Rocksett should be easy to take off with a long hot water soak and making sure it is secured when trying to remove.

For any joints that you NEVER want coming apart, use Rocksett. If there is any chance you will take it apart later, just use appropriate torque. I rocksett all my ASR muzzle devices on before I knew about Griffin Plan A and then when I switched over, I had some muzzle devices that I could not remove even after soaking in boiling water 3-4x and applying over 60 ftlbs of torque. Griffin also sells some ST-3A semi permanent thread locker that is a good middle ground for keeping things tight but not impossible to remove.

I slathered my Plan B & Turbo K threads with red loctite.  And then did the same with the Cherry bomb mount on the barrel and a 51T mount on another upper.  Neither is ever going anywhere unless I really really want it to and they see regular full auto usage.  The cans get smoldering hot.  I've had the AAC visibly glowing a couple times.  People underestimate the strength of red loctite on parts that see high heat usage... when you use way too much of it on well-cleaned threads.

Does the blue version work well?
I may want to change out end caps.

Do not use red loctite on muzzle devices. Red loctite is only rated for up to 500 degrees, which is not hard to accomplish with an AR. I've seen muzzle devices secured with red loctite spin after moderate use sessions. The recommended thread locker for attaching a muzzle device is rocksett.

We use high temp Vibra-tite and torque to manufacture spec, never a problem.

Do you have a part number for the high temp Vibra-tite?  I tried searching and could never find it on their website...

I've been using Hot Lock and it seems to work. Also sometimes I use blue loctite and it has worked.

To keep stuff from walking off my QD mounts, I tried PTFE tape today and it worked well. Might do further testing with it and see how it holds up.

No, that's the same as Rockset.  We use Vibra-Tite 137 IIRC.

Oh, OK.  Yeah, I've seen that Vibra-Tite which is a permanent thread lock (similar to Locktite red, I think).  I was thinking maybe you'd found a high temp version of the VC-3 removable and reusable type of thread locker.

Thanks for the quick response.
