I have a Trijicon IR-HUNTER  60 mm Thermal that is missing its objective cap.  What is a good these days and where should I look to buy the replacement?

For clearance on a bolt action rifle, should I try to find an extended eye shutter or, should I look for an elevated Picatinny rail?

I switched out to AAD mount covers. I think they may be the best covers on the market - BUT they are expensive and made to order so it takes a little bit. I don't think they make them specifically for the thermal scope, but you can measure and get one pretty close. I think the one I ordered for the objective was a little big, but a strip of bicycle tubing and it was solid.

There are certainly cheaper alternatives.
