I have an original 50cal shield plate thst ive been thinking about adding to a mount. Its so heavy though id probably never mount it |

| Yep, zero bed modifications. The baseplate and tube are mounted under tension between the hitch receiver and bed, basically clamping the whole pedestal and cradle tight to the bed. Very stable, did speeds above 75mph and lots of windy Appalachian backroads with no flex in the mount. 2-1/2x2-1/2x1/4 wall tube is kinda overbuilt for this particular setup but I didn’t want to take any risks. I’ll probably go with a thicker baseplate next time, although the armor, gun, and ammo mount is barely 150lbs. For anything heavier I’d definitely change some design aspects. |

Built a gun post some years ago to mount a DSHKA in a T100, and a GAZ..... I'll try and post some pics later this evening when I get home. |
