I traded into an NIB hang tags still in place Marlin 336 in 30-30. I may walk it at a swap meet Friday. Looking at GB, I see prices all over the place. Its a nice no frills rifle. What is a good starting point?

The area I'll be in has a lot of Amish, and a lot of people that hunt PA and WV. 30-30 is legal for deer there, but not Ohio.

Marlin makes the 336 in virtually all types of rifles. Is it a SBL, guide gun, dark series, trapper series or classic series?

Need more info but if it’s brand new with the tags, maybe knock $100 off the new price you see in shops.

In going to guess late Remlin as there appear to be no manufacturing defects, wood to metal fit is good and the action is smooth in function.

It is a pretty standard grade rifle with nothing fancy.

Well, I guess we're going to find out. Headed to the swap meet with no intention of bringing it home. I've got about $500 in it, so let's see what it brings.

Forgot to update. Went for a no haggle $700 within 10 minutes. I should have asked $800.
