What us the best way to mount a small RDS on a shot guns receiver that is NOT all ready drilled and tapped? I want it done right with a simple low, solid mount. No goofy bolt on clamp mounts. I am sure i could drill and tap it for a pic rail then mount a optic. But i think it would be a simpler, lower, cleaner mount to skip the pic rail. Does anyone direct machine shotguns for a RMR patern? Other than the Vortex optic is there other options that would mount directly or on a good plate system? It is a old Remington 11. So i expect no direct suport. It would eather be a custom machine work if the reciver is thick enough. Or drill and tap for a screw down plate or mount. Just looking for ideas at this point. |

I have a Burris FastFire III on one of those SpeedBead mounts that uses a shim between the buttstock and receiver. Worked great for years now for birds, clays, and slugs (deer). Very natural… just sight down the rib like normal and there the dot is. Because the dot is like 1/2” over the rib you can see rising birds a lot easier than getting all the way down on the rib. |
