I have heard of the Trijicon TA70 and maybe the GDI or SEI M1A mounts, apparently both allow the direct mounting of an ACOG. Specifically with the TA70, iron sights can still be used through the channel in the ACOG. I'm not sure if the GDI or SEI mounts allow this.
Where can one of these rails be found? I'm looking to mount a compact ACOG to my SOCOM16 as low as possible but still maintain use of the iron sights, and there don't seem to be any other options.
My rifle:

Thank you!

PVS-4 mounting bracket. That's about as low as you are going to get, but irons won't be useable. That said, it isn't a big involved process to remove the mount.

I've only seen good things on that from people that have installed them.

I’m seriously considering one for a garand.  A 3x prism on it.  I think it’ll help pick out the plates way up the hill.  Supposedly I could put the irons back on if I hate it.

I’m not sure about trying to maintain irons under an optic like the OP wants.

Smith Enterprises used to make one. I don’t see it on their website. 3x compact ACOG did not have enough eye relief but the 1.5x did.
I think you would be happier with the scout style base that mounts to the barrel in front of the reciever, using a red dot to co-witness.

Anything but irons on an M1a is a huge pain in the ass to get right.

Some specifics optics can be a pain, but most scopes and red dots are straightforward affairs.

I don't know anything about the ACOG, never owned one, never mounted one. From what I've seen on the market, the only possible way to do this the way you say would be to use a scout scope mount which clamps on the barrel. That mount is below the line of sight with the irons. I have no idea if the ACOG opening would line up with the sights.

Every other mount I've seen that can also use the sights mounts high above them, so you use the sights below the mount. You would need a cheek riser to use the scope and then you couldn't use the irons like that without removing or lowering the cheek riser.

I have both the scout scope mount and the Bassett picatinny low mount. The Bassett low mount is too low to use the irons, but it's a single retained screw to remove it. It's a fantastic system, it just takes a tiny little wrench that lives in the butt stock to put it on and take it off with a built in torqueing method. It seems to return to zero as good as QD scope rings, maybe better. I wish a mount like this was available for other rifles.

I did some research on this, and it appears the Sadlak picatinny rail may be what you are after. It is similar to that Trijicon mount you posted, but it has a deep U groove that allows the use of the iron sights underneath the optic.

With regular rifle scopes, It's probably the second easiest rifle I've ever dealt with other than an AR which already had a picatinny rail. Your regular bolt action is a bigger pain to deal with.

Cogburn will hypothetically work.  The chart on their website is honest about which models are practical

Pics or it didn’t happen.  I may chop 1.5” off the stock and try a ta33 if I don’t like this setup.  Chinesium on my wood and steel sickatates me
