keep hearing lots of mixed opinions on the trigger service, anyone have recent feedback from his work? I have a ZF5-p i just scored and the trigger is horrible and 500 is a bit steep for other options

I have one that he did about three years ago. It lived on my MP5SD for a while with zero issues and now its on my PT91 with zero issues. He also did a g36 trigger group for me as well with zero issues. Having messed with a timney trigger for the roller delays I would whole heartedly go with the Springfield worked trigger group. He is definitely a old school type of guy but i had no issues dealing with him.

He did my G36 trigger about 2 years ago. Much improved

Take a look at the Timmeny Trigger for MP5s: https://timneytriggers.com/hk-mp5-two-stage-trigger/ |

“Mixed opinions” should be a clue.

I have a AP5 that he did work on along with replaceing the trigger and safety lever, went from 7.5 lbs of pull doww to 5 to 5 1/2 lbs of pull. Safety selector made a huge difference, easy to move with my thumb, Delivery was 3 weeks overall.. Call him and talk. JMHO

Wow...he's still around?!?!
I used him circa 1999-2000 for my hk91 trigger. HUGE improvement and never had an issue. Used him prob 10 years ago for my mp5 trigger job and alittle later for my g36 trigger. All came back great. Never used him for an AR style trigger job though as usually I do my own.... aka MBT and JP yellow springs |

I have one that I had on a PTR91 that now sits on a MKE clone. No issues on either, but the Timney is nicer.

I have one of his ar jobs from 20 years ago. No issues but I don't shoot it much.

Everything I've sent him has been awesome.
Bill had some problems in the past and he's over them so his work is consistent. |

Turned my gun into a machine gun (once!) and told me I broke it.
Partners with HK parts. What is it with HK attracting these people? Started with Vollmer. |

I have several packs Bill did for me about 20yrs ago, never a problem.
There was a a 'rumor' several years ago that Bill had an alcohol problem and screwed up more than a few trigger packs. The only HK smiths I've had ever had issues with were Jim Gravett (former Vollmer employee) of Pro-Tech Engineering and the Murray Urbach (Urbach Precision Mfg). |

Pro-Tech Engineering
This joker kept my build for almost 4 years. I think he is out of business. |

He did my trigger many years ago. Sent it on a Monday, had it back on Friday. Excellent work, & yes, he’s still around. GARY.

He installed a Urbach 3-lug barrel and paddle mag on my HK94 in 2002. He did a “ok enough” job. Never had any issues, though he did use a friction vs roller paddle so it isn’t as refined as the roller. I think he also put a slight dent/mark in the receiver from clamping. Not that I had much or a choice 20+ years ago for HK gunsmiths. Can’t believe I can get all that factory now! |
