Welp, I'm afraid I might of went full retard on my Ruger 22/45. A gunsmith put a muzzle device on it for a specific suppressor and I wanted to remove it. I'm not sure if loctite or rocksett was used, but it wouldn't budge. First I tried boiling water, but then I tried my Crapsman Special Heatgun on it for about 6 mins. I kept it moving, they metal never got glowing, I could still awkwardly move it with shitty gloves. Does it stand a chance? |

No idea, but I am learning to hate muzzle devices too. I put a griffin linear taper mount on a SFAR to quiet it down a bit. No locktite and just wrench snug. Decided to put the boomer brake back on after 200 rounds. About got a hernia, but the heat gun worked for me breaking it loose. It took a lot of heat. Also been fighting with my 22/45. Griffin can and muzzle adapter, too often the threaded part of the can is locked on the muzzle device. I have leather pads on my channel locks these days. Cut the fingers off some leather gloves and tape them to the jaws. I’m never taking that muzzle adapter off the 22/45 apparently. Seems welded on lol. Good luck man, I don’t know the answer other than get that sucker hot. Really hot. |
