Been out of the loop for a bit.

What smiths or who are the good ones now who do conversions with a clone as a host?  Got a wild hair to buy a AP5 and have a 10mm to match my mp5/40

Its enough work that you should just have someone build you a mp5/10mm clone if you want one.

If you have a parts kit, just get it built off a flat. Only reason to convert a gun is if you want it done on a German receiver.

Dakota Tactical - check with Joe and see when he will have more available. When the dust settles I think the cost of one of his DT54/10 guns at $5900 will be in line with a graft style build using a new AP5 + 10mm specific parts.

Builders don't seem to enjoy taking on a graft build of this type which is why I wound up with a DT 10mm pistol built on a US made flat. My gun runs great and all the German parts fit as they should, equal in every respect to a German gun. My only niggle is I'm not a huge fan of the welded optics rail however the welds and finish on the gun are gorgeous.

That's the big question, who does. For $5900 it will stay in the "one day" list.
I have enough spare parts I probably only need a magwell and barrel, hence the sudden thought I could buy a 9mm and convert
