If you are a cheap bastard like me... and absolutely rufuse to pay $300 for a Cabelas fancy kart…
Here is an idea to save a few hundred box in a "home made" 3 Gun Kart. Materials: 1. Magna Kart. Its advisable to get a round tube (vs square tube) kart. 2. Milk crate. Used a bigger one I found at the school/office section at Walmart. 3. Heavy Duty Cable Ties. 4. Coleman Utility Racks. Walmart as well. 
Walmart crate VS milk crate. 
I plan to enter the Tactical Division for next 3 Gun Match. Some PORN… Noveske 14.5 Afghan 1/7 Mid bbl & Aimpoint

my cart is similar, but for another reason (yeah, I'm cheap)... I ride with friends, and occasionally need to collapse the wheels on the carrier (they fold flat) if space is going to be tight... the milk crate is bungeed on, and the 1/2" pvc horns for the muzzles bolted on with thumb screws to loosen... a real milk crate is a lot stronger, and there is a coutout at the top if I need to carry my full equipment box... a small ammo bag fits in front if the long guns are flat, and the mechanic's bag allows room for scoresheets, mags, armbands, and "shelf" space to reload....
most of the bungee cords terminate at a threaded eye bolt in the aluminum frame

finally upgraded my cart to a jogging stroller... Shannon Smith is putting on matches at Universal Shooting Academy in Frostproof, and the large aggregate rock is hard to pull the old one on.. I still have a fold up requirement as I often travel with a friend...., so opted to go with a modular system using "U" bolts and aluminum snap links to attach my range bag when we arrive.. the "U" bolts allow a lot of trial and error to get clearance to allow the cart to still fold...I load out of the utility bag near the handle...

TacDoc.... so far no... I usually have an extra box of shot shells and water which sits directly on the axle at the end of the match... the Benelli is pretty light and with the A1 stock, the AR is not too bad.. I had originally planned on canting them inboard, but decided not to... still in the design stage...the left wheel is still outboard of the guns

Heres mine I started putting together last night. With the gun racks and cup holder and a 20" tool bag from Lowes, I have $110 in it. So now Im ready for the Atlanta 3gun club match in 4 weeks.

You guys inspired me today.
Got on Craigslist and found a stroller for $60. I know it was a little high, but I only had to drive two miles. There were others lower, but 20 miles away. Went to Academy and got two sets of Coleman Fin Grip Pro Handles, another $60. I found this jogging stroller at a yard sale and made a few modifications. I just added the gun racks and moved the attachment points for the seat sling so it would lay down flat to set my range bag in there. It works great. I was going to remove the lower sling, but I discovered it to be the perfect place to toss empty brass.

And was into it for less than 100 bucks because he found the cart used online so im thinking of going that route now. |

My fiance and I are new to 3-gun and we've looked at a lot of carts. My buddy uses the do-all cart which he put a lot of money into to make it truly functional and still it seems a bit tedious. We built this cart from a used stroller I bought from craigslist for $50 (which I still think I overpaid given the condition). Put some elbow grease into it and I am hard pressed to find a more functional cart. I'd love some feedback on it though and to hear what some of you more experience folks have to say about it. Here's a pic, and a link to my forum where I've got a bunch of pics to show it's functionality. Please please, I really am looking for constructive feedback!

I found a jogging stroller at a good price. Once I got it home I cut the roof part off it was in the way of everything. Then I bought a double rifle rack and bolted it on. Putting a single rack on each side would have looked better but it cost about 40 dollars more. Once I put my shotgun and AR in it, the cart feels lopsided. Once I load it up with ammo boxes, cooler and other items it should feel more balanced. Next, I am going to work on a way to attach a cooler, I have a small one and some bungee cord.
In addition, I am debating if I am going to leave the little table on it or cut it off. It will not come off cleanly so I am thinking of leaving it, I place to leave drink may come in handy. |
Mark... having ice available in Florida is an asset, and my soft sided cooler did not work that well... I converted a small rolling cooler to hang off the cross brace at the rear of the stroller... a couple of pieces of light gauge sheet steel bent in a "U", and a bicycle inner tube to protect the stroller... poly rope and piece of PVC pipe for a handle... holds 10# ice and 5 drinks
