We have two or three of the canada goose brand heavy winters coats.
Bought them years ago before the prices went stupid.

I'll stick with Arcteryx.

I hope everyone buys one. They are the reason coyote hides are worth money again. I should get $40.00 a piece for raw coyotes this year.

Like it better than the CG coats.

One thing I won't miss if I ever get a Greed Card and move the American South is the need buy winter coats.

I do. Seriously, I get the LL Bean catalog and they redid the squall jacket. I make these oohs and ahhs. Then I see a nice RAF Sheepskin lined leather jacket by GoldTop and think, “maybe I should join the wife on her December business trip to Chicago.”

I have a few goose down winter coats. I also sleep on goose down pillows.

Those coats are WARM AF!

Hell yeah!  I almost bought one (different style) in Montreal last month.  That is real coyote fur trim and a lot of it comes from Idaho!

I still have a navy blue Eddie Bauer goose down parka (not faggity looking like that puffy one) I bought about 10 years ago for like $300 [steep for me]. I have worn it a half a dozen times and am also thankful for having it with each wearing. It needs a good cleaning, but a $1000 coat had better have a cock pocket built in.

It looked to me like the tour company was renting them, but I could be mistaken.  There would be 50 of them in the lobby, and they'd provide 50 matching coats in tiny little vacuum-packed bags.  I guess I never did see a turn-in process, but I was usually at work when they checked out.  The tourists at that one hotel would probably amount to a few hundred jacket sales every week in the winter months if they are actually buying them.

I did get a kick out of it when things started warming up in mid-March and they still wore them as if it was mid-January.

Hard to to maintain vibrancy in -40 if you don’t have proper PPE.

Also, if the grid goes down, that coat would be worth more than $2000 or enough someone might want to kill for, see Chicago news clippings.

These were tourists, mostly from China but also Korea and Japan, who fly in for 4-5 days and will probably never see weather like that again.  It makes more sense than buying the stuff IMO.  Although I have no idea what they paid - it's possible they could have bought a decent jacket and some thermals for the same cost as rented CG.

Before the cityiots developed and rezoned the lake I lived on, I used to take as many as I could. Shit birds do taste like shit.
Unless there's a brine for them to soak in that tenderizes them, and pulls some of the gamey flavor out, they're like eating the sole of a mechanics boot after years of absorbing oils from the floor.

Greasy tough nasty tasting feathered honking shit factories which need culling with flak guns and belt fed full auto 12 gauges.

I used to use them as coyote bait. When a coyote will only nibble and leave it. That's saying something.
Disgusting shit birds that reproduce like rabbits.

If I had it my way, there'd be a wall on our northern border with these chambered in 12 gauge

and those fuckers would never make it beyond the wall.
They serve no purpose. Next to the tick and mosquito they are nature's asshole. They are invasive territorial shit everywhere obnoxious honking assholes that will turn your lake into an algae infested cesspool and screech into the early morning hours with constant honking.
And they taste like shit.

I never had TFG, just my Starter.  But Canada Goose is a different company which makes legit arctic wear and has been around since (according to Wiki) the 50s.

There isn't enough dresser drawers and DK-LOLs to make a dent in the shit bird population.

Absolute degenerate shit birds finally having a purpose. Perhaps if deloused and cleaned, one could have quite the green energy enterprise, get enough of them to insulate houses up north. Fill walls and attics with shit bird feathers. Profit while being environmentally conscious/conserving to Lakes, rivers, ponds, leaving them pristine and not full of poo induced algae and allow mallards their habitat.

Mallards are cool. And they're tasty.

Canadian Geese are worthless obnoxious assholes.

I doubt they’re rented, if that’s even a thing.

Asian tourists have money and access to knockoffs.

Tour groups can offer some surprising rental stuff.

Asian tours run the gamut of high end rental handouts to serious budget slumming.  Every angle imaginable.
