2 deaths out of 1700 infections does not seem very apocalyptic.
Certainly it’s worth tracking by public health officials, but this is not exactly Ebola with 50-90% mortality. |

I think I originally heard 41 infected with one death.
If it’s actually 1,700 infected with 2 deaths that makes me feel much better about this situation. |

The similarities to the one found in bats reminds me of this.

Well, sitting here in my hotel room in Thailand. Got all the symptoms of the coronavirus. I think probably a normal bug but if not better in the morning I'll wander to the hospital.

Whenever healthcare workers get infected from taking care of the sick, it raises the CDC alert level. P2P transmission as easily as the common cold, much greater than flu and much greater than SARS has been confirmed. Reportedly 20% of confirmed cases need ICU and a vent. Once the hospital vents are spoken for, it will get much worse. The issue is what is the number of infected that do NOT need to go to the hospital so they don't. We don't know the answer to that yet, but so far the growth of confirmed ( DNA Typed ) cases is large from day to day. the number of cases reported later today / tomorrow and fatalities will shed light on how fast this is spreading This has the potential to be a very big deal. Only time will tell. |
