hey, HALF YOU GUYS IN THIS CHAT...
since it's a lot of NL central fans, how pissed are cubs fans right now? are they pissed to holy hell their championship core was traded? did they understand this had to be done b/c epstien gutted the farm for a chip?? kind of insane they didn't keep one guy of that core. |

I'm going to guess the die-hard Cubs fans would say it's worth tanking the team for the next decade or so just to have seen the Cubs get to the Promised Land after 108 years. I can understand that feeling after watching the Red Sox finally win in 2004.
But your run of the mill Cubs fan, assuming you can find one, would probably say it wasn't worth it, but that's okay, the White Sox are doing alright and are a Chicago team, so it's all good. |

Any of the Brewers fans here listen to the game on the radio broadcast? Did Uecker throw shade on the Pittsburg ownership for being cheap and not keeping players for the fans to be care about? I was out with the fam and could only listen with one earbud in crowd noise. Couldn't hear everything too well.
But otoh I got texts asking if I wanted tix to Fri and Sun games. All free again. I'm going broke on free games. |

I expected them to keep one guy. Bryant was gone, that was apparent for a while now. He is still pissed about being screwed out of a year of free agency during his rookie year. Rizzo and Baez hadn't really produced this year, but i expected them to keep Baez just for his defense. There seems to be a few mentalities that I've seen. 1. Half of them think the team is going to compete for a playoff spot in 2023(despite most of their good prospects being below AA) and spend $100 million this offseason. I'm not joking on this. When i try to tell them that the rebuild will probably take 3-5 years(like the last one did), they just stare blankly and say i'm nuts. 2. Most are extremely upset at getting rid of their favorite player(be it Rizzo, Bryant, Baez). 3. Half the guys they traded away are just gonna come back to the team in the offseason, cuz they're "the cubs" and everybody wants to play there. Personally, my wife was pissed for several days that they traded Rizzo. I told her it was either that or lose him for basically nothing. She understood, but was still hurt that it happened. |
