Ah, she's not terrible. At least she doesn't have the obligatory British/Oz/Scottish accent that mass media thinks is necessary to do open wheel commentary.

Truth

A guy from Tennessee won yesterday with a Chevy motor. It is our race and the announcers need to reflect that.

Winners and cars have come from the world. The race is American.

The cars are Italian spec and I am torn. I don’t like so much spec stuff. Indy needs to allow other makers that fall within the rules.

Indy forces the Dallara spec cars on all teams with limited aero packages. At least the Indy cars are made here.

Engines can come from any company but are sealed units.

Indy racing is a spec series to control costs. F1 is an order of magnitude more expensive and teams aren’t nearly as limited.

I like Indy racing better but wish it was less of a spec racing series.

Yes. I'd like them to use the spec monocoque and maybe some other key features which have been proven to be wonderfully safe. But open the rest up for innovation.

They did experiment with some aero kit options, but that was dropped. Probably due to cost containment.

It's nice to have full fields.

I’m working the Detroit races today (also worked yesterday)

This is the return of the Grand Prix to downtown Detroit. It was down here in the past, but had been on Belle Isle for a long time.
They have a massive straightaway that ends with a 180 degree turn. We will see speeds north of 200mph at the end of the straightaway.
Yesterday one of the IMSA drivers hopped his car on top of another. He was less than thrilled when his car died before getting to the garage.

It’s gonna be fun.

Great finish with lots of passing and aggressive driving but ended in a green run, as racing should.

Much better than the Spanish GP this AM, Red Bull just drove away from the pair of Mercs.
