Pens are in a must win going to Boston, if they want a chance, better win both away.

The Pittsburgh Penguins have recalled goaltender Jeff Zatkoff from Wilkes-Barre/Scranton of the American Hockey League, it was announced by executive vice president and general manager Ray Shero.

Zatkoff, 25, has posted a 21-19-0 record in 43 games for WBS this season. He currently leads the AHL with a 2.00 goals-against average, while his .919 save percentage ranks 13th in the league.

Prior to joining the Penguins organization as an unrestricted free agent this year, the 6-foot-3, 179-pound Zatkoff played four seasons in the Los Angeles Kings organization for their top minor-league affiliate, the Manchester Monarchs.

Uh oh!

You're probably right, which means the B's need to win a third game at home and then have the Pens beat elimination in sudden death overtime in game 4.
Gotta make the pens the underdog somehow in this series.

This is when we find out just how good a coach Bylsma is. He's very good, but honestly he has only coached what is essentially an All Star team. Now they're arguably even better than they were 3-4 years ago and what's worked in the past isn't working now.

As we've learned in Detroit... You can have too much talent on one team.

I think that's part of it.

The B's are hungry and just attacking the puck on every shift. Playing good hockey.

Yep. It's like the B's took a Haley Strategic Disruptive Environment course.

Disruptive, aggressive hockey is good playoff hockey.

LOL I went through the gamut myself during the Wings' run. I won't even list the crap I "tried".

There is ZERO evidence to prove or disprove I may have brought a jersey to bed with me and laid it on my feet.

Bold prediction! No idear.

I am so impressed - Boston has done everything right so far. Even a split at home would give them a great chance to beat Pitt early next week (or whenever game 5 would be) and rest up for the Finals.

So true, but you can't blame me for relishing in the Pen's misery. All Pen's fans would be doing the same if the Flyer's were down 2-0.

Having been a resident of the Burgh, I know it is impossible to root for anything on the other side of PA.

I need the Kings to get at least one at home so I can watch Game 5--the only broadcast game remaining in this round.

Every year I think about subscribing to basic cable just for the playoffs, and every year I regret not doing it during the conference championships.

Works for me. Though why the shallower nets? So they can have even more "was it a goal? Get Toronto on the horn!" controversy?

I'm a big fan of the hybrid icing in particular. It needs to happen.

Shallower nets give a bit more room to work behind the goal line.

Watching Hybrid in the AHL this season, I liked it.  With us losing Joni to a broken heal from an Icing, I'm on board.

Visors, after Marc Staal (and others). It's a no duh point.  Heck, Jordan and Eric added visors to their helmets.

Shallow net is for more action behind the net I guess.

Yeah. I realized after I typed. I was focused on the front of the nets. They really need to go back to a looser mesh though... Every once in a while you see a puck go in and pop right back out, that they really have to scrutinize to ensure it actually went in. That was what I was picturing.
