For no other reason than to be fair to Trump. How long would it take for someone, anyone with a perfect understanding of how to unravel all of the deficit spending? They would need the full support of Congress and the entire judicial branch plus a real majority of the American people. I'm sure they'd need more than two Presidential terms just to make a noticeable mark in it. We are no where near that and never will be.

It's funny to think about earlier in life when Ross Perot was doing infomercials about how to pay off the national debt and make America solvent again, and it was a simple as 7 or 8 years of some gas taxes and government belt-tightening and it'd be done, and how the effects on the average American could be curbed by addressing corporate pay of upper tier officers going parabolic while average worker pay hadn't even kept up with inflation since the 70s. Now the debt is so big it's functionally impossible to even begin to address. I ain't even 40 yet. |
