The Martin shooting became a big deal because the family pushed it and it had the tune the race baiters wanted. Had Martin had a serious criminal background and if the confrontation occured in Zimmerman's truck we probably would not have heard of it. On the surface the case pushed a lot of the right buttons. |

Given the FBI stats, the racial makeup of Jackson MS, and profiling issues in the now majority population, the TV stations in Jackson have decided to only mention race in reported/unsolved crimes when non-blacks are involved. A white perpetrator, Indian victim, Chinese witness, etc. are referred to as such. If there is no mention of race regardless of the receiving/giving end, then race is implied.
