Explain advanced? I'm pretty sure they both shoot ammo of designated caliber. I wouldn't say stamped metal and plastic parts is some crazy advanced tech- it's called cheaper.

Interesting perspective. Dan Wesson is a wholly owned subsidiary of CZ, but I've never met anyone who called their DW a CZ. The CZ line of pistols are clearly marked as such, as are the DWs.

I’m a millennial and my first pistol was a 1911, I carried it for years.

I have two of them now.

Correct, I was being facetious but a smidge serious at the same time.

Both are excellent shooters and two of my favorites. That said I'm always on the lookout for an actual CZ 1911 to pop up for sale, would make an interesting and excellent base for a build.

They were made by Dan Wesson.

That’s awesome.

As much as I dog on. 1911s, it’s hard not to love them.  I bought a 5 inch Wiley Clap Colt and a pile of parts I want to change.  Trigger is super sloppy, beavertail safety is bad on fit, thumb safety has huge overtravel…just need to find the skill and time.

Another millenia who trusts his 1911.

This is my third and 8500 rounds and counting without malfunctions.

The WC makes a great base gun if the price is right. Nighthawk did the work on mine, and it is a primary carry gun.

Correct Answer is Tisas.

$400 adjusted for inflation is cheaper then that Chicom was new.

Toss in the Turkeys give you the options for 9mm, Novak sights, red dot cut, rails, etc .

Then the politics..

Turkey is a NATO member helping stack Terrorists and Communist in Syria and Ukraine... Who doesn't donate to gun grabbers (Springfield), shit on their customers (Colt) or price gauges their customers (Sig).

Sigh, since you decided to go there, Every polymer striker is essentially a VP70 clone, including Glock. Credit goes to where credit is due, no revisionary BS, please.

FYI I carry a Glock exclusively so take this with a grain of salt but objectively a tool being selected by the person and not as a tribe is actually a great metric by itself.

Pistol tech does indeed have a cult following and it's not just restricted to 1911 owners. I see Glock cultists day in and day out that makes me almost embarrassed to be known that I carry one too.

Fun fact, but when Glocks came to the US market in the mid 80's, a good number of bOoMeRs were in their twenties or early thirties were buying them too, making Glock also a bOoMeR gUn.

Another fun fact: Strikers can be found with lesser or the same capacity as certain 1911 models. I still don't feel under-gunned with those models of strikers either.

Y'all should just accept it, 1911's are still going to be around and some people will still be carrying them. And judging by the millennial perspective threads of 1911 threads, still not going anywhere for a very long time either. I've seen sooooo many of you all try to argue, belittle, shame, and debate until ad nauseam yet still this tired, overplayed, worn down, unwinnable debate is still being done to this day. All to no avail.

VP70 is a blowback pistol. The Glock has more in common with the 1911 since it’s a tilting barrel action, IMO

Nothing wrong with a 1911, and they have their place in any collection. That said, in 2022, it simply isn't a top choice for carry or home defense. There are so many other options that can outperform it.

I have a fair bit of experience with Military 1911s.

None of it good.

Reliabilty: Poor

Accuracy: Poor

Capacity: Poor

Hell, I even got a nasty case of slide bite from a pre A1 1911, before the exaggerated beavertail.

Im sure there are fine 1911s out there and, im happy for you if you like them.

For me, they belong in the same trash can with AKs and Shotguns.

The VP70 is also a polymer lower with a striker fired slide, long before Glock did it

Glock is the only brand and design that everyone parrots the same cultist BS or lies. Do you see anyone calling every semi automatic double action a Little Tom copy? No, we don't. DA/SA never had a cult like following that Glock has.

Subjective, depends on the person and not but those with feelings against that are condemning it's use in 2022. As the owner of a G17, there's absolutely nothing wrong with an up to date 1911 with a light rail to be used as a nightstand gun.

Did you ever get to put some rounds through the CQBP/M45?

That thing will punch ragged holes all day, all night, and have zero issues while doing so.  Great gun, and at the very least a massively better pistol than the brick-ass M9.

I thought I would hate being issued a 1911, that gun made me a huge fan of them instead.
