That said I'm always on the lookout for an actual CZ 1911 to pop up for sale, would make an interesting and excellent base for a build. They were made by Dan Wesson.

Nothing wrong with a 1911, and they have their place in any collection. That said, in 2022, it simply isn't a top choice for carry or home defense. There are so many other options that can outperform it.

I have a fair bit of experience with Military 1911s.
None of it good. Reliabilty: Poor Accuracy: Poor Capacity: Poor Hell, I even got a nasty case of slide bite from a pre A1 1911, before the exaggerated beavertail. Im sure there are fine 1911s out there and, im happy for you if you like them. For me, they belong in the same trash can with AKs and Shotguns. |

Did you ever get to put some rounds through the CQBP/M45? That thing will punch ragged holes all day, all night, and have zero issues while doing so. Great gun, and at the very least a massively better pistol than the brick-ass M9. I thought I would hate being issued a 1911, that gun made me a huge fan of them instead. |
