This is not the Hyundai and Kia from the 80s and 90s. They are a much different car now. Honda went through the same thing as they were once considered trash.

Yeah, but Kia's 3000 mile full synthetic oil change interval says differently.

I wouldn't say it looks great, but then again what does these days?

At least it's not a M3 look alike.

The V6 is a pretty good value, which if you buy one I assume “value” is one of your criteria for a luxury car.

Have been Nissan for my whole life. All the vehicles at my house were Nissan.

Last year it was time for my wife and I to change our Rogues. Both were getting close to 200k and we wanted to trade before something happened to them.

I got a Nissan Frontier. The only place in town that had what I wanted (low miles, 4x4, Nav) was the Hyundai dealer. Our next stop was to be the Nissan dealer for my wife. While I was in finishing up the papers on the truck, she decided to buy the fully loaded 2021 Sonata on the showroom floor.

I was sceptical, but I believe Hyundai has taken us away from Nissan. The Sonata has everything a fully loaded Maxima has, for the price of an Altima.

It's even worse when you get a close up look and realize 80% of the grill part is just blocked off.

You don’t want to start going too far up that ladder against their competition right now.

The CT5-V Blackwing is putting down more than 650 hp.

Part of it is the government crash standards. The hood must be at a certain height, so that when you plow into a pedestrian, you smack them in the midsection instead of at the knees.   And the front clip basically has to be a rounded wall, rather than having a sharp bumper, etc.).

That's the main reason all new cars look rather egg-like in the front end..... so rather than having a solid egg, the manufacturers stick on a giant ass grill.

I watched a couple reviews on the new G70 over the weekend and they're tiny.  The backseat is basically unusable.

They do look nice, just not going to work for me.

The majority of these huge grills are all blocked off. Some of it is used to hide cameras and other sensors, but the primary reason is that it's just much more efficient to control the path of air than to just allow it to flow freely in and around the radiators, intercoolers, and other various cooler bits. Just like all the other fake vents that manufacturers are slapping on, it's mostly for looks. Now who really likes those looks is a question for everyone but the designers, but it's not like complaining about it has stopped them previously.

Not quite in this case.

They are the most independent of the three.

The stinger for instance the g70s sister both have 8speed autos but are 2 different transmissions.

The Tau V8 is their engine now even, they build them for Kias K900.

As years go by they will have more brand exclusive stuff.
