Looks pretty sweet. I've never ridden any of the Supermoto bikes. They seem like an insane amount of fun. $13k for the base and $15k for the fancy. |

That's sexy but aren't all Ducs?
There used to be a Ducati dealership really close and they would have all of their bikes out for test rides on Saturdays. One of those days almost had a Monster 800 follow me home. Bought a Harley Steet Bob instead. Sadly, that dealership went out of business. |
|
<------ don't ride. Rode a dirt bike in my early 20s but nothing on the street. 52 now, not gonna start.
That being said, I always thought the hypermotard were cool as shit. Kinda like the G19 of bikes in that it can do some of everything well. |

My clavicle would break just contemplating purchasing that beauty.

Quoted: That's what has kept me from a Husky 701. There aren't a ton of used ones out there and much like superbikes I'm not sure I want a used one. View Quote Prices are coming down. My local dealers are sitting on oodles of 2023 inventory, both enduro and SMC. They're marked down to $11k and I'm sure they'd take an offer. Granted after tax, registration etc they are still pushing 13k but it's better than the quotes pushing 17k I was getting earlier this year. Private sellers are still asking more for 3yo bikes. I don't think the 2024 KTM/Husky has any major changes either. There will probably be better deals as we get towards the end of the year. |

19 years ago I had a KTM 625 SMC supermoto. I think it was the first factory supermoto offered and made around 60hp? It was insanely fun, totally bonkers. Made me do bad things over and over again. The Duc specs look even nuttier. Must resist.

Ducati is about to join the motocross game.

Do want.
But i'd also like to keep my drivers license. Same reason I don't have a sumo setup on my 525. |

Reminds me of my old KTM Duke II of 20 years ago. Most fun bike I ever had. Last one too.
I’ve been itching to get back on lately. I’m sure I’ll die to some moron on a phone. |

I'm convinced nothing will ever touch the Aprilia SXV (VDB).
There's nothing quite like a V-twin that revs to 13,500 and puts out upwards of 70hp in a 275-300 pound package. Of course, the maintenance was a nightmare compared to any normal "street" bike. Owning a few of those has ruined me any any normal street legal version of a motard. |
|
I'm a big fan of SuperMotos and big singles on the street. I've owned SR500, XR500, DR650, DRZ400SM, KTM625SMR, KTM350 SM conversion, CRF450 SM conversion, etc. The new SMs are fast and responsive but not great street bikes. I'm an old man now but the high strung singles make for a poor running cruisers, they want to be WFO or turned off, nothing in-between. My worst was the KTM625 and the Honda CRF450. The best were the SR/XT500, XR500, and DR650. If I wanted one now I'd test ride the KTM690 but the XR650L with street tires would probably suit me better.

Quoted: Would this be a good choice for a first bike? New rider, never been on a motorcycle. View Quote Probably half-decent, like a B or B+ in school grades. Depending on your maturity and intended riding environment, something like this would be relatively easy to learn, grow into, and still remain fun for a long time. One could do a lot worse by going for a liter bike or similar as a first machine. A more practical option could be a learner bike like a TW200, DR650, KLR650 for half (or less) the price of something like this. Less investment, better resale value than buying a new bike. Cheaper to thrash and repair. |

Buy some Dunlop KT180 tires, gear for around 100mph, rejet, and enjoy. Loved my DR650 on street tires. I'm not sure any set of gears could get me to 100mph on my DR650. I do need to look into tuning it and what I can do for some more power. |

Quoted: No top speed listed . No 0 to 60 time listed . No quarter mile time listed . View Quote And? It's a motard, these things were basically designed to zip at breakneck speed around go-cart tracks. Traveling top speed on a motard is like getting karate chopped by 100 people simultaneously. Racing a quarter mile on a motard is like taking your date to prom in a BMW Isetta. It just isn't really for that. |
