It's a symptom of how little the anti-.mil populist right has to work with, that they are inventing their own unofficial political correctness standards fighters are supposed to abide by and struggling to find enough violations of them. While criticizing the concept at the same time.

Yea old guys in the force isn't the answer.

That video is close to how I felt walking up and down the TVD in Ranger school.

Sad thing was seeing the young folk looking the same, they laughed when I would fall going up and down the hills.

Yet I always got up, that's the advantage some kids lack. My son is a perfectionist and gets upset when he fails.

His one mile run times are 7:20-7:48 and he hates to lose.

The biggest thing I learned is the getting up part and keep going when you fail.

He has been running and doing push-ups and burpees at night, I told him when he quits or slows down to keep going.

This week he assume duties as a element leader in Civil Air patrol and is responsible for four cadets.

His first event with his new cadets is a PT test, we are putting him on the spot to see how he does.

11 pull-ups are his best thus far, I told him if I can do 11 he better not do any less.

Hope he will be a much stronger and better soldier than I ever was.

No, I wasn't in the military, and I'm in my fifth decade. I only figured she represented herself and the fact that people like her could get into the military. Not more, not less. That, and the stuff from the knothead reflexively choosing who he would say is a nut job, in combination with what those who recruit for the military and what our people in DC say and do is what I have to interpret the current goings on through.

When the people at the top of the pile of the military and the intel communities tell you that you are their enemy for being what is completely normal and start putting out recruitment ads targeted at the portion of our society that hate you and hate the good stuff about what the country was as founded and the good things about what it is ...

Yeah. you notice, you'd be an idiot not to. Especially when you know from reading and listening to a bit of history how control of a nation or federation's military is sought and how they can flip and become hostile and be used against the people under that government. We are showing the signs of that and have been since at an absolute minimum obama's era in power.  The us versus them between those in control at the top of the military and in politics became physically manifested in an unmissable way in DC after the 6th with the walls and the military encampment there.

The general direction of the military is away from being friendly towards america and towards being hostile and revolutionary.

ETA: and I didn't say it because it's so obvious ... that doesn't mean I think everyone in the military or even a simple majority of them think and feel that way.  The rot seems worse up top, among the people who pull the levers.

That's basically how I understand it. The reason I think it's being turned against the country is because the recruiting I see is aimed at the segment of the country that hates the country, because I see recruiters talking about having a heck of a time getting recruits from places they used to get better results from (not just online, but in RL convos too). I've watched the top brass commit what in the past would have been looked upon as minimally sedition, if not bordering on treason. I see that jackass loudmouths feel safe enough to say stuff they never did before.

The fact that the "this crap can't work here because if you do that you catch a bullet and die and than your friends are screwed because you're not there" is still seemingly intact is one of the few bright spots I see. Ironically, the stupid crap with the PT scoring and requirements being messed with is more bothersome to me there than many other things. If you can't physically do the job, we shouldn't be lowering standards for you to "do" it.  If the groups that really *can't* have that nonsense start getting meaningfully compromised by the crap politics. Yeah, that's five alarm fire bell time.

ETA: and I didn't serve because I didn't want to. No excuses, just didn't want to. Though if a recruiter had walked into our shop on the morning of 9-11, they would probably have had me.

Yeah ... not biting on the idea that if you complain about something t hat's wrong and shouldn't be happening, you are required to be an activist about it. Doubly ironic when tossed out by people who - because of the internet anonymity - can't know your life well enough to make your choices.

Maybe use the forum for what the forum is good for - discussing what people have posted?

The Left distrusted the Milltary and they aren't ever going to trust it, and now the Right doesn't either.  And 75% of those in the eligible groups are too fat or too stoned to even join, with 80% of the remaining group wanting to pursue other things like video games and other pursuits.

Similar issues are affecting first responder agencies, such as law enforcement, fire agencies and EMS.

Also look at our production of Javelins.  After sending Ukraine and Taiwan our supplies it will take 5 years to replenish it.  That's also the case for other defense production.

Yeah, that’s what we’re doing.  Discussing.

And in discussion, some people have more of a leg to stand on than others. So if you want to anonymously bitch and moan about an institution that you have zero actual knowledge about, while decrying those who still live within that institution everyday and tell us that we are wrong, don’t get offended when you get called on it.

Biden in the near future…

“Our military enrollment numbers are dangerously low. I just spoke to the Pentagon and they gave me a dire warning for America, they said we need more soldiers protecting democracy than ever before. So as Commander in Chief of the armed forces and because of a deadlocked Congress, I just signed an emergency EO granting emergency citizenship to all illegal alien males 18-25. We need to think about the future of America and that future is now!”

News headline in 4 years, “Recently admitted illegals into the military program got a blessing from President Harris as she signed into law HR911 that grants citizenship to all families of those who proudly served this nation 4 years ago from Biden’s emergency EO. President Harris spoke that these new soldiers have been doing a great job rounding up white supremacy in the US as incarceration of white Americans has skyrocketed 326% as they have been plagued by high job turnaround, drug abuse and discrimination in the workplace.”

It’s always, “They work so hard”

Year later when they encompass 2/3 of the population and vote for the same failed policies that failed their native country.

No nation ever survived with a majority of the population below 80IQ.

The federal government is definitely against them. By them, I mean traditional conservative white males. Maybe the military isn't directly against them, but when they take their orders from the federal government it is kind of splitting hairs.

Talk about acting like you want to be offended. You're thrashing around for a reason to be mad at me.

I offered you silver platter, handed you the axe, and stuck my neck out:
... if you thought what I said was wrong, wouldn't you quote those bits, and show how they are, ...

Denmark stinks. Tell me how it doesn't and I'm wrong by taking what I've said and handling it honestly and openly.

... and now you're going for the dishonest stuff.

I told you exactly why I thought and said the stuff you are upset with, and even replied to the post you made after that where you *didn't* show how the things I said were wrong and now you're using the "You aren't military, therefore, you should shut up."

ETA: And also, I wasn't decrying everyone that lived in the institution. I even said the opposite:
ETA: and I didn't say it because it's so obvious ... that doesn't mean I think everyone in the military or even a simple majority of them think and feel that way.  The rot seems worse up top, among the people who pull the levers.

Whatever it is that you've made up wholly from your own (appparently upset feelings) is on you, not me. People on a forum say what they post. Not things they don't.

Amusingly, the blind "patriotism" that you're advocating is what allowed Hitler and Tojo to command enormous armies.

I wouldn't have gone in nowadays if I was of age and I wouldn't advocate for my kids to go in either.

The military has turned into a mentally ill social experiment, not a force to kill people that need killing.

It wasn’t ‘blind patriotism’ that the US and it’s Allies fought with.

I have a very hard time believing the real eligibility number is 23%. That seems about double what I really think the general population can provide that we can use, as is.

I'm deployed right now, on my fifth and final one.  Without giving away irresponsible levels of details:
-just shy of 20% of the force here has seen behavior health during the less-than-a-year tour.  It is very much over-represented in our youngest, newest folks- and very much tied to a basic lack of adult coping and adult behavior skills.  Keep in mind this is in a deployment of several thousand with zero KIAs, and under 20 WIAs- this is not combat fatigue or PTSD from actual combat factors.
-again among that same group, we have a significant percentage who will never pass the ACFT. They only are in uniform now because Covid paused for two+ years the fitness tests and resulting kicking-out that is the norm. When even the now-watered-down test kicks in, they are doomed to failure.
-yet again in that same group, they are on more meds (including ones I thought were barred from deploying with) than an old folks' home.

That is simply medical/emotional/physical eligibility observations, among the ones that somehow passed that first gate.  That isn't even touching the weaponizing of various policies and programs against people one doesn't like, the lack of mental/emotional toughness needed for performance under stress, etc.

No, but it is what led otherwise normal Germans and Japanese to do horrible things for those tyrants.
