I had a pretty big POG collection. I don't know if anyone remembers the Apollo 13 Saturn V POG holder Hardee's gave away back when POG was all the rage, but I had one.

Looked like this:

As an elder millennial I approve this thread. I'd prefer the Gen Y moniker, but the world doesn't seem to agree with me on that one. I feel like I had a gen x / gen Y experience. I feel very privileged that I got to live the old school and the new school growing up.

The Husky Mudslinger.... man I totally forgot about that bike. Man that was a long time ago. The OG super soakers..... god they fun.  We used to fart into the bottles.....lol. Such a prick move.

I was on highschool when golden eye was king. Man, Doom was fun too. Remember Dark Forces? What a great PC game.

This thread made my day. The only thing missing in this thread is the cool models we used to buy and paint, and maybe a vector or SR71 poster.

I was a freshmen in college during 9/11. Who knew then, but that day we left the world as we knew it behind..... some things are definitely better now. Some just aren't.

Gen X was called Gen X because it’s the 10th generation since the founding of the country and X is Roman for 10. Each generation is roughly 20 years.

That is stupid and wrong.

And like you said, nobody talks. It's just isolation in public. I remember groups building around machines where a high score was coming up. Hell, idk if they even have fuckin high scores anymore.

I was homing in on a score of 600,000 on Stargate one time (was my game, could play for hours on a single quarter) at the arcade and I turn around and there’s like 40 kids crowding behind me watching. Scared the hell out of me.

Granted, I never went jogging with it. But walking with it, or listening to it on the bus, it always played perfectly.

Yes, Apogee was big. As was Sierra and Interplay.

Besides those games you mention, these were two of my favorites:

Bought both of them on GOG. I've broken out both for replay in the not too distant past, though not recently.

The Nomad was cool as hell but sucked AAs like Biden sniffs kids' hair. Also, unlike a GameGear, the batteries were in their own attachable device since the system had no space for batteries due to all the hardware to run a portable Genesis. You got maybe, 2.5 hours out of 6 AAs.

Yeah, I missed that sale.  Friend of mine had one, and he had the portable turbographix-16 (I still have the console). I still have my Lynx, too.  I do have one of the newer handheld Genesis emulator handheld systems, just throw a bunch of ROMs on an SD card and play.  Works fairly well, but it's not the same as the original.
