Girls aside, that show was so fucking stupid. I was probably the only kid in school that thought so too. I was also probably one of the only kids watching Star Trek, the X-Files, and Unsolved Mysteries.

How did they not have Ben Stiller's face on the cover? He was by far the best part of the movie.

That timeframe was probably the last time Americana was “decent” for kids to grow up. After 9/11, social media increase, and 2008, culture seemed to have stagnated or degraded to what it is for the worse.

I know we sound like our parents but I’d agree. A lot happened in the early 2000s that shifted trajectory pretty significantly.

At minimum I’d say it was a significant shift from more rural Americana to what it is today

While most of us were too young to appreciate it at the time. The decade prior to 2000 wasn’t all good times. Ruby Ridge and Waco through our developmental years showed us all that there were no laws so minor that our government wouldn’t murder us or our family to enforce. Then 9/11 was the cherry on that shit Sundae that showed us, they would never miss an opportunity to capitalize on a crisis.

That was standard - The big offset is the decline of the American people. Everything now is look at me.

Social media was, in my opinion, the biggest factor in our decline. Think about it, all the pandering, double standard Bs is simply to look good to others
