Everyone is claiming they're going to bet the farm at 1500, so probably 2500-3000.  But I am on beer 3 and its almost walrus time.

Curious. Got a question about "getting out". I understand you pay the handlers a certain percentage to get "out". That makes sense to support the exchange's overhead. The girl you mentioned...say she jumps at 13k/BC and decides to take her exchanged wealth in USD.

Say it's 1 million +.  She ain't taking that home to stuff the mattress. :)  I'm sure it's an electronic transfer.  That will for sure flag her to the authoritahs.  Agent Bueller from the IRS shows up for Q&A.  Miss Bitcoin millionaire tells them "I bought BC when it was new with my spare lunch money...Truly, i did!."

Is she taxed for her windfall? Escorted away in irons for moving 1m with no visible means of support?

No, that's bad.  At least a .gov backed currency is implicitly backed by taxpayers, until it implodes.

Bitcoin is backed by absolutely nothing, and has no tangible scarcity.  It can go to zero at any time on a whim.

The owners of private central banks that steal from society through government have been in the money and currency theft game for centuries.

They are masters at indebting nations, changing the currency, and hacking off zeros to steal the wealth.  The Federal Reserve is the king of theft, and they know what real money is.  See what they hold in their vaults for a clue, and then think about what they force us to use.  Two different things.

Use goldmoney dot com instead of Bitcoin unless anonymity is needed.  6,000 years of historical value as money, where Bitcoin is only a few years old.  Very dangerous.

Oh, and neither is an investment.  An investment would be ownership in shares of gold or Bitcoin mining companies.

Assuming she has a record of when she bought her BC, she pays capital gains on the gain like she would shares of amazon or netflix...

If she can't show her cost basis, probably taxed on it like income.

Yep and APMEX will sell you precious metals for bitcoin and give you a 4% discount like they do with cash.

https://www.apmex.com/faq/bitcoin

IS THERE A DISCOUNT FOR PAYING WITH BITCOIN?

Yes. We provide a 4.0% discount off our list/retail price to our customers if they pay for their orders by check, eCheck, bank wire, or trade. As an introductory offer, bitcoin payments qualify for the 4.0% cash discount, similar to check, eCheck or bank wire orders. The prices shown for each product on the website include the 4.0% discount unless you choose to pay by credit card or PayPal.

I'm no authority on the matter, I was brand new to crypto 4 weeks ago.

But since then learning about it has basically consumed my life. I am constantly reading/listening to podcasts or youtube videos.

I've made over 300 bucks already from an initial 620 dollar investment less than 4 weeks ago.

I think the days of people considering btc a true cryptocurrency are over. It's digital gold now.

LTC on the other hand, I don't consider to be USD. It's nice when I make fiat gains on LTC (like now), but at it's heart it's an actual currency to me.

I hope that continues to be the case.

Oh I'm not panicking...I just got in this morning, and I am a patient man.  I will be in for the semi short haul.  This is where this currency is headed:

REVELATION 13:16-17 KJV 16 "And he causeth all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond, to receive a mark in their right hand, or in their foreheads:"

"17 And that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name."

So in order for this ^ to be accomplished the world has to get to one currency, and it will be digitally conducted.  Notice it says a mark will be "in" their hand/head.

Bitcoin has crashed 80% before and it can do so again.

I hope you do make money, but:

1. Know that in almost every market, prices go down much faster than they can go up. Bitcoin is very volatile, don't be surprised if one day you wake up and they've lost 70% of their value in a single night.

2. Don't bet anything you aren't willing to lose

Time will tell. A lot of people felt similarly in 2013/2014.

On the other hand, it's survived one boom/bust cycle and I think it will survive this one. As long as people keep hoarding it, it will rise in value.  I don't ever plan on selling mine.  That's one less bitcoin up for trade.  Every time a person adopts that attitude, the value climbs.
