240% more powerful. It is going in a 91 EZGO TXT with a Vegas Carts installation kit.
It is a worn out slow thing now, but not much longer.

And you are aware of the aftermarket support for those engines, arent you?

If some is good, more is better!

Please tell me someone makes an installation kit that includes some sort of transmission with reverse.

I have a late 60s vintage Taylor Dunn electric cart that has $700 worth of dead batteries and still has the original wiper style speed control that is a giant PITA.

Part of me would love to make a gasser out of it but most of the ideas I have had have been thwarted by lack of a reverse gear.

Funfact: My cart came standard with a Currie built Ford 9" rear axle.

There is a dude on utube that tricked out one of those engines to power a full sized car. They were able to break 50mph.

But the potential of those mods are nice to know about

That's gonna scream.

I put a 212 predator in mine and it goes 19 mph.

The father in law has a "big block" in his ezgo and it'll spin the tires in the dirt and runs like a 4 wheeler.

Have fun!

I thought about doing a build thread for mine.  Also a 91 EZGO, but mine is a marathon.  Electric.  I built a custom lithium battery pack using cells from a Nissan Leaf EV.  It's up and running great (goes 19 with stock motor).  It needs body work/paint and electrical accessories (lights/radio).... Maybe a new motor for more speed

my old cart.  Electric, heavily modified. would go 38mph. I put HD upgrades on everything, and it would still pop relays and fry controllers.  Thats why I went with a milder build for my current cart.

I bought mine as a "project cart" for $750 last fall.  Everything worked, but the batteries were getting tired and it was/is ugly.  That's going to be your best bet if you can do the work yourself.  If you want something turn key, they are very pricey.  Mine the day we got it (ignore the overflowing barn, we had just moved in)

750 sounds good. Seems like everything down here is assumed to be made of gold for the prices they ask

They go through cycles around here. Right now they are on the lower side. Not 750 low, but less than
2k for one that runs.

I know it's apples to oranges.... but it's too bad that SxS engines can't come in a crate.  Some of them are doing 180HP out of < 1liter engine.... from the factory.  The peeps that go nuts with them are getting something like 300HP out of them.

Imagine nearly 200HP in your golf cart.

I watched the dude's video making the supercharged predator motor... I wonder how you keep that engine cool when you're laying down 70HP continuously in it.

Not a chance.

But if you ever saw how the front suspension worked you would really know how crazy the people are
that are going 100. I suspect this combo will go about 35.

It has an oil cooler and I see people putting bigger coils on them,

If it's top speed you're going for, you'll want either/or bigger tires/taller gears. Otherwise that big motor will just be good for getting you up to 19 mph really quick and any mods you do to the motor won't do much more for you unless you modify it to run at much higher RPM which is going to be big bucks. That V twin will rev to about 4500 stock so really not much different than your stock motor (if you eliminated the governor) which means your top speed will remain roughly the same unless you put bigger tires or taller gears or both. V-twin would probably have the power to get you a 50 mph top speed if geared correctly.

Gear swap isn't too bad. Pretty straight forward. Just messy and takes some time.

I have the Kawasaki 290d with advanced timing, jetted carb and header pipe/motorcycle exhaust with 8:1 gears and 25" tires that tops out at 34 mph. Takes a city block to get there. Eventually will get the 600 ish CC single cylinder engine to take the place of the 290. Don't want the V-twin as on my cart it requires a lift. For now the 290 is sufficient, gets up to 25 pretty quick and will slowly climb from there, can still climb steep hills. But if the motor blows, it'll be a fun day swapping in more power.  It's plated and we put 1000 miles on it a summer and is an absolute blast to drive around small town and gravel roads.
