KSHE played progressive rock radio, album-oriented rock and standard hard rock at the time, and NO pop music. If you were a teenager in Missouri, you forswore pop, dance, or disco, and swore allegiance to KSHE and real rock - - or there was a very real chance that you would not make it through the school year in an undamaged state!

So, I rented out ABBA's albums - ABBA, Arrival, & The Album and copied them to tape to enjoy when I was driving . . . by myself. . .

Out of hundreds of artists and groups, there is no Abba in Billboard's Hot 100 list of chart achievements and milestones.
They did have one #1 in Hot 100 and two #1s in easy listening.

You do realize Abba has sold in the area of 300 million plus albums. I am also talking pure pop music, the acts you mentioned beyond Elton John are more Rock orientated.

The Eagles and The Beatles(along with Led Zep and Floyd) are in their own class, beyond what any band will most likely ever accomplish again. You can't even start to compare 99.9% of musicians to them.

Abba were huge in the 70s till the early 80s...really huge. Not my favorite, but they sold stupid amounts of albums and packed many a concert hall.

I might be incorrect about the singles, but sales wise, they are among the top selling acts of all time. 300 million albums or so.

Again, not my thing, but as far as pure pop goes, they are about untouchable.

Phil played drums on it, and Eric Clapton played the guitar parts. There were a lot of great musicians on the album.
