Would it be such a bad thing if we had "like" buttons for when someone says something really epic?
It would make arfcom into a social network for gun enthusiasts. ETA: It exists.......http://www.gunsocialnetwork.com/ |

I want a unlike button also.
Can do ar-15 silhouette for like and ak-47 for unlike.
|
|
I think a "Fucking hate with a passion and wish ebolaids upon" button would get more use.

It is bad enough that a person's worth is judged by join date and post count, you want to add another worthless metric into the mix?

If this was facebook, I would unfriend OP for posting stupid shit.

I would love to see the meltdown something like that would bring.

We should also start flooding the site with pics of our children, hourly updates of our activities, and chain threads that guarantee you will catch anal poison oak if you don't pass it on to 30 people.

Just shut up.
Not everyone wants to "Like" a post. I prefer to scroll through tens, if not HUNDREDS, of replies of "+1", "87", "fap", "get both", "da fuq", or the plethora of other ingenious GD replies. |

Yeah. We need to be more like FB. View Quote Yeah, that was a fucking total failure. We need to be more like MySpace. Look, addressing the entire idea that we'd "become like Facebook" if we added the feature...not just you, Brownie, it's an idea that's amazingly prevalent here. People that knock FB because of how other people act there, or because of the liberal CoC/TOU Facebook has...that's one thing. To assume we'd become like Facebook because some kind of similar popularity tracking was implemented, though, is just assinine. To deny the genius of a multi-billion dollar franchise is astronomically stupid. And that was built on "Like". Not saying arfcom has to change, I just think the sarcastic "We need to be more like FB" is a shitty excuse not to. Hell, if you really didn't care, the feature could be optional...you could toggle whether you saw that kind of feedback. |

Yeah, let's make ARFCOM more like junior high. That'll definitely improve it!

Fuck that.
I bet if you moved to a different state you'd talk about how good it was back in the old one. |

STFU 13'er. Or in other words, how about you spend a bit more time and join the party a bit more before asking for things to be changed. Mkay? |
|
Or maybe instead of "like" we just have "+" and "-" like reddit?

View Quote No. Reddit's success with +/- proves that "Like" isn't a good feature, because only one form of popularity tracker can be successful. Because Like is a failure, and +/- are similar, +/- is also a failure. Y YOU WANT ARFCOM FAIL!!!?!?!?! |

No. I would rather Goatboy spent his time developing the technology to slap another user thru an internet connection.
