Quoted: I don’t get it, is the bad grammar supposed to be the joke in those videos? What is funny about that? I need a dang decoder ring to figure out what my kids are saying anymore, seems like they aren’t the only young people that talk like that. View Quote Attached File |

Quoted: Memes are freaking stupid! Use words like a mature adult, I took away my daughter’s driving privileges for a week because she wouldn’t give me direct answers when I texted her about dinner. She just kept sending Garfield the cat picture memes. View Quote I used to think the same until I realized that they can convey a large amount of nuance in a couple seconds, and it is instantly understood. Either your daughter isn't utilizing memes correctly, or you do not understand the general cultural context. |

View Quote I fully understand that Garfield is a silly cartoon for children, this is about the big picture of how she needs to respect her parents and how she needs to grow up and mature. We’ve been encouraging her to apply for college but she is more concerned with Snapchat and Tictok dances videos. The real world is sneaking up on her fast and I’m doing my best to prepare her for it. |

View Quote College is largely a waste of time and money until you're old enough to realize what you want to do in life. Look at the so-called student debt crisis - caused by young adults going to school and not having any idea how they're going to apply that Indoctrination. And in the company that I work for, while we aren't a fortune 500 company (yet) we largely communicate through Memes. |
