Time to pass a constituonal ammendment setting the court’s size to 9.

Mentioned it in another thread too, but the easiest way to do that, in my mind, is to convince the Dims that WE are going to pack the court if it doesn’t pass. Get Trump to hold a press conference lobbying congress to expand the court instead. They’d be tripping over each other to vote for it.

Stacking the Supreme Court would be the nail in the coffin of our representative republic. The entire system breaks down if the system descends into naked power grabs. From there, it’s not a far leap to a President not agreeing to the peaceful transfer of power.

These people are so delusional, that they don’t realize what lasting damage they are doing to the country. I’d remind them that they shoe will be on the other foot, and we’re the ones with the guns.

You don’t want today’s politicians opening up the constitution for edits. We would be under the China model in a heartbeat.

- She's an attractive lady (I think so, some in this thread do too ), she's a young lady, she's never really run anything in her life.
She's sucked into the Keynesian stuff, her parents (NY libs likely, ones with money) never said no to her. Boys never said no to her. Teachers never said no to her. She's probably marginally smarter than her friends - smarter than some of her neighbors, and her customers. She's a pretty young lady, she essentially hasn't gone through any meaningful feedback loops in life (from what I can tell anyway). She's never had a business fail out from under her because bigbox moved in town. She's never seen the HMMWV in front of her drive over an IED. She's not watched her 2 favorite employees fight and realize she can only keep one. Point is:In her mind, why wouldn't all this magic free stuff work? Why couldn't she do this job?
She got A grades after all?

- So People probably started to telling her to run. She's an activist at heart, she sees a Bernie Sanders say, "we can have free _____" and never explain how it would work, and people clap. In her mind that's the bar, and she was (mostly) right. She did an interview  with Colbert once, IIRC he did not ask a single policy question. Note how the late-nighters are suddenly a think tank when certain topics come up. .   She gets kid gloves because she has a (D) next to her name.

TLDR:  I think she's genuine. Ithink she's a caring person who is too much of an activist for her own good, she believes things that are false. She's a 20-something year old pretty lady that's never really failed at anything before and is in over her head. I kinda feel sorry for her, but she does need to fail at this.

Very quickly, SCOTUS would become a senate.
9 becomes 11. 11 becomes 22. 22 becomes 44. And so on.
At that point, dissolve the circuit courts and just bring cases before the extra congressional body.

Only this one has lifetime appointments and no elections.
And if you add elections?  Now you have speeches, campaign money, lobbyists, terms, and alll other manner of bullshit.

The congressional method for ammendments is quite rigorous (that’s why there’s been so few). It wouldn’t be like an Article V convention of the states.  38 states would have to agree to ratify. In order to get that, the ammendment would need to be narrowly tailored.

It also needs a 2/3 majority in both houses of Congress.
