We all get some miles on us.

The folks who look like they are aging gracefully seem to be the ones who look like they are acting their age, i.e. dressing age appropriate, hair styles, etc.  The folks who look like they are still trying to be trendy.....just look like a mess.

Never heard of half of them.

That article is complete bullshit, and all those photos are fake.

+1 Two of my favorite 80's female singers. They have both aged fairly well. My wife ran into Pat Benatar on a business trip a couple of years ago, said she was really nice and down to earth. Sat and chatted with her for an hour or so in her hotel lobby.

Saw Violent Femmes a couple weeks ago... I was surprised at their look. The looked like regular suburban dads on their way to Home Depot. Guy in cargo shorts is the lead singer.

Midge Ure (solo and fronting Ultravox)... one of my favorite musicians/writers of that era or ANY era.

Too many uptight mullets around here. I played Maiden, Yngwie, Ozzy, Dio, Queensryche, Rush, etc in metal bands in the 80s. But I still love a lot of that 80s New Wave and Pop. The chicks were hot and it was a great time to be a youngun!!!

ETA: Good to see Big Country on there as well. One of my all-time favorite bands. RIP Stewart Adamson...

It's interesting that they list him as "Bob Geldof of The Boomtown Rats". It should read "Bob Geldof, organizer of Live Aid", because nobody had a fucking clue who he or is band was, prior to that.

Also: If he dyed his hair black, he'd barely look 10 years older than he did in 1985.
View Quote

I guess it depends on your age - I recognize him from the Boomtown Rats and as Pink, from Pink Floyd's The Wall.   I haven't heard some of those band names since the 80's;  I saw Chrissie Hynde jerk a guy up by his collar, and punch him in the face for trying to climb on stage back in 1982.  She looks like a little blue-haired old lady judging from that pic.

Had to lol at Robert Smith from The Cure - he's gotten better at putting on make-up.

One of the comments said that Kate Bush needed to go "running up that hill" a bit more.

So snarky (considering I myself could also stand to go running up a few hills) but funny!

It is sad to see all those "cool kids" and former hotties and hunks of my own heyday showing their age, but makes me laugh for what those annoying twits of today (Beiber and Miley, anyone?) have coming round the corner for them! Time is a right bastard, and will roll over them hard.

I'da never known that was him.  Looked it up to confirm and came across this.  Huh...
So old
habits die hard really. But on the other hand I’ll pay $200,000 for Jim
Bowie’s sword from The Alamo!’ he hoots, referring to a passion for the
famous 1836 battle at the Texas garrison that he’s nurtured since he was
five.

Collins is now a world authority on the episode.

Phil in his garden in Switzerland with a musket that once belonged to Alamo hero Davy Crockett, one of four from his collection which he has donated to the battle museum.

Same with classifying Laurie Anderson as new wave. Sure she used synths, but way differently than anyone else.
