That said, my dark brown sharkskin wingtips, and cordovan wingtips look best with a blue suit. Obviously, the socks are over the calf, the belt and cuff-links match, the tie is tasteful but bold (full knot, one dimple), and my gig-line isn't all fucked up. I think the problem in this thread is that people are seeing "natural" or "walnut" colored shoes and thinking "brown." Those shoes with a dark blue professional suit, do not work. Cordovan? Yes. Dark brown? Maybe, if the shoes are of sufficient quality and have a good shine. Black shoes are kind of meh. But, obviously, I have a couple pair that I wear for "power" presentations. Finally, have people forgotten how to polish shoes? The things I've seen....  Funny socks are a trend that needs to die. You're not in prep school anymore dipshit, none of the jurors care about your super edgy socks. |
