Roman meal is all my dad would allow in the house unless it was sourdough.

I'd still buy it but I can't find the split top I like.

Roman meal and spartan supermarkets....... not sure why I associate those two things but I do

Because Spartan Stores' logo was that badass lookin' Spartan. "You can trust the store with the Spartan on the door". I remember that from when I was a little kid. Now it's Spartan Nash with some girlie colors.

I remember it, never liked it.
Was raised on homemade white bread.
Last 20 years or so switched to wheat bread.
The Wife, she buys this 'whole 12 grain bread' looks like it was mixed with a bag of bird feed.

My dad was in the bread business for 40 years and worked for Earthgrains that owned both Rainbow and Roman Meal. Roman Meal was a staple at our house. One night my mom bought some Mrs. Bairds trying a bait and switch since the local store was out. Just by touching it and smelling it he knew it what it was, took the whole loaf and threw it over the fence.

Do you remember a bread in the '70s that had the profile of a cowboy's face as the logo?   I forgot the name of it.

I also remember rotary phones, so there's that.

I still have a rotary phone in my basement.

Ate alot of Roman Meal bread back in the day. It's all my grandparents bought and then switched to Brownberry Natural Wheat. Brownberry is good shit saturated in butter.

I remember that bread from my childhood. It was the only kind my mom would buy and I hated it. Eating a sandwich on white bread at a friends house was always such a novelty.
