"Ishtar" is synonymous with "bomb," yet it's a fucking hilarious movie. It was killed by bad pre-release press, and no one will ever convince me otherwise.
The film's greatest sin is being a tad too long. Get a good editor to take it down by about 15 minutes, and it'd be a classic. I saw it in the theater and the audience was howling. IME, most people who shit on it have never seen it. |
