Never been a fan of the G26/27 but I have large hands and the G19 barely fits my hands and the G17 is perfect. I have a G27 and rarely ever shoot it I just do not like it.
|
|
Nope, they don't feel remotely the same to me.
I got rid of my 26 for a 43 as soon as they came out and haven't missed my 26 one bit. Get a 19 if you want a smaller carry piece with higher capacity, if size is the issue a 43 disappears concealed. |

Anyone here prefer a G26 to the 19? View Quote Also, 19 is not so large as to be uncomfortable AIWB or 4 o'clock IWB. |

My LGS has a used Gen4 FDE frame Glock 26, with 3 mags one +2 extension, and Truglo TFX sights for $425
Thinking REAL hard about this one... |
|
I like the 26 better with the mag extension. My pinky needs a home.

Not really. You can put extended magazines in a 26. Some don't do so well, but I have one that has been good so far. I don't care for the 26 too much in the factory grip configuration, so, when I carry it, it's with a 19 mag and Glock mag sleeve.
All that said, you can't paste the barrel length you lose on to a 26. It isn't a lot, but one should be a little more particular about ammo. It will all leave, gut may not be at it's best on arrival to target. I carry a 23 (same size as a G19) day in, day out. Gym shorts or suit. No matter. IMHO the holster is the deal breaker. Happy Shopping |

Yes, I carry a G26 spring through fall, then a G19 only in winter. *G26 conceals much easier if you wear nice form fitting clothes.
*Doesn't apply to most of the heavy6 types of GD. |

I first handled the G19 and got one in the early 90s. I was in awe of having capacity comparable to a full sized wonder 9 service pistol in such a small and light package.
With little functional desire as ever in speed and accuracy in comparison. I was excited about the 26 and had one on order and got it as soon as it came out. I did not like it. With the plus baseplates, I genuinely love it. Edit- Forgot to say, recently this with a TLR6 is a great option for carry. Not what I a man going to carry during the day around the estate. Not going to be my night stand gun. It’s not going to become an operators primary pistol and light set up. But not a shabby option. |
|
I find the G19 just as easy to conceal with proper clothing and it's a far better grip for the support hand to get into the side of the frame.
The G43, XDS-9, Kahr PM9's all have their place if you need something that conceals easier or for pocket carry. |

i've owned probably 10 glock 19's. always find a reason to let em go. I enjoy My G17 but need something smaller for NPE AIWB carry under a t-shirt in areas where it is a HUGE no-no. I figure i have some G19 mags i can add an extension too should i decide i need a bit more grip length or just carry my G17.
at $425 i figure if i dont like it i can always trade for a G19 easier than vice versa |
|
I have that same one. If you're only going to get one and carry it a lot, get the 26. I shot mine just as well as the 19.
|
|
I find it's actually easier to grip the 26 with 4 fingers then the 19 with 5. |
|
|
|
For carrying I see no advantage, and for firing the hump is exaggerated with the smaller size. For me it's a Glock 19 or a true pocket gun to carry and nothing in between.

Yes. The 19 just does not fit my hand the way a 26 does with a Pierce extended floor plate. Also prefer the 17 to the 19.
I have tried many times to find the love for the 19 and it just does not work for me... |

Having zero CC experience I bought a 26, thinking it was made for CC, so it would be the best choice. Several years of experience behind me now, and a wife who carries a 19, has caused me to arrive at the place where a 19 is the better choice (IMO). I shoot either one very well, but the 19 conceals every bit as well as a 26, so the greater capacity makes it the better choice, IMO.
My wife HATES the 26 and won't shoot it at all. She smokes everyone in our club with her 19 though. The bitch. |

G26 is my EDC piece. Night sights and Glock factory +2’s on all my mags. Good enough for me.

Quoted: How huge of a no-no are we talking as far as the NPE? If getting caught means jail time or losing a job you can't afford to lose, you need to be thinking smaller than G26 IMO. I have both and prefer the 26. I actually like my G26 more than any of the Glock’s I own or owned, G40 G34 G42 G32 G23 G19 G21 G20

I always thought the G26 felt really awkward in my hands until I actually got to fire one. Shot surprisingly well.
I carry one most of the time now, rather than my G19. |

I'll go back to a double-stack for an active war zone, but never again for CCW. |

I much prefer it over the 19, and shoot it better as well.
If you already have a 17, the 26 makes a perfect EDC |

I have both; the 26 used to be my daily carry gun, now the 19 is. I'm not really sure if I have a preference. I'm fine with either one of them.

I found a 19 with a heavy cant carries the same as a straight 26. I can't get a good grip on a 26 in that position so i got a 19 and 43. 19 for almost always 43 for rare super hidden.
Fyi if it helps you i am a fairly thin guy and wear t shirt and jeans mostly |

The Glock compacts feel surprisingly good in my hand. I shot a 29 with some decent 200gr handloads and while I wouldn't say it was 'nice', it was pretty comfortable.
I can shoot my G19 reasonably well but I have to have my grip exactly right, or my shots are off. The 1911 by contrast and I can be pretty sloppy with, and as long as the trigger pull is okay the bullets go pretty much where it's pointed. |
|
The G26 is and always been too damned chunky for its role. IMO the 43 rendered it obsolete in the Glock line-up. If you need/want the extra capacity I would just go G19.
