I have only had it as a paid day off at my current employer. Locally, that seems to be common. We are slightly more Catholic here than the surrounding areas.
Funny enough, the President/CEO isn't Catholic, but he's very strong in his Evangelical faith, so it's still a thing

I was going to try to take the day off tomorrow, or at least not come into the office. But the overhead door guys are coming out tomorrow to install a new opener so I guess I'll be in to baby sit them. When they finish I'll split early. Girl will be home from school tonight.
