As a teen, I put countless hours and miles on one of these. Too much fun.

So did I, and I miss that two-stroke sound and smell.  But modern 4-stroke 4-wheelers are better in every way, except the cost.  Far more stable, faster (if you pick the right one), no mixing fuel, more range on a tank, wider powerband, etc.

I wish I had kept a 250R 4-wheeler, just for nostalgia.  But I'm not going to pay current market prices for a nice one.

I went through 4 of them as a kid in the 70s and 80s (90, 185s, 200x, 250) I didn't die. Never owned a 4 wheeler, I moved on to dirt bikes.

I can tell very few in this thread have spent any time riding a 3 wheeler, a hell of a lot safer than a dirt bike. I had way more near death experiences on my CR500 than on my 250R.

Dude you can’t compare a cr500 and a 250r lol

Eta yes I’ve ridden both

How about an ATC500R?

I could feel the handlebars vibrating just from watching the video.

I remember loving the cr500 I got to ride - but not why you would think.

I loved it because when riding it like a little bitch like
I did, it made everything so effortless.

Never rode one, but if you made the rear a real differential instead of a spool, would they not be safer?

They certainly would turn better with proper differential.
We have a 125M that's still a ton of fun, if you respect the laws of physics

No.

But I’d like to have mine back. Tecate Master Race.
