What was the big problem with the windshield washer system in the early '60s models?

You had to pressurize the wiper fluid tank.

Thats awesome, and it reminds me of something my guitar instructor told me when I got started.  I noted that he always used vibrato at the end of the everything he played, I asked why and he said professional courtesy!

Not sure what kind of steel these things are made of, but it takes a lot of abuse

Don't catch it on my pockets much. Of course it is probably protected by the 20 keys on the ring

About setting the dwell.

Remember how small black Chevys had the little door on the side of the distributor cap?  Connect the dwell meter, start the engine, open the Little door and inset an Allen wrench into the adjustment screw, adjust the dwell with the engine running.  done.

Ford points were trial and error, set the gap, check the dwell. Redo until you get the correct reading.

I still have one of those Allen head on a flexistick tools. The trapdoor distributor came around in about 1968, iirc...

Ah, man that takes me back.  Early '70s we were living in CA while my dad was in training.  He went on TDY and I remember waiting at the airport at night when he returned.  He gave one of those to me & my brothers.  It was awesome.

Used to work as floorwalker in Roses dime store over the Christmas holidays. When things were slow, I assembled the layaway toys. It was good money, but you stayed very busy.

The record department had a player that was hooked into the PA system. The Christmas Elvis released "Blue Christmas", the girls stacked the 45 changer full of the records and it played over and over and over and over and over and over...
To this day I hate that damn song. My goal is to make it through the holidays without hearing it and over the past 59 years I think I've succeeded twice, maybe three times.

I was pumping Shell gas for 16.9 cents a gallon in 1962, in Phoenix, AZ. on Indian School Road.  New station went in across the street and the price war was on.  My boss was tearing what little hair he had out of his head and cussing all the time at the new station owner.

Still have a spout in the garage and gave my dwell meter and timing light away several years ago.  Use the feeler gauges when checking tolerances on revolvers I work on.

How about having a spare ceramic/metal resistor for Mopars, as they always went bad at the wrong time.  They were mounted on the firewall.

A ballast resistor.  There is one in the glove compartment all the time.  I've had to replace it once in 19 yrs.

I remember Kresge's.

A lot of people probably don't know this, but the "K" in "K-Mart" refers to Kresge's.  It was the company that K-Mart grew out of.

[Had to ask him to leave and not come back as he wouldn't take no for an answer until I grabbed his pudgy neck and dragged his ass out.]
