The same with Trump have nuclear weapons and having said mean things about NK, Iran, etc. I'm not saying you shouldn't be ready for all sorts of stuff, but in the next 20 years noone is getting rounded up and forced into a City 17 scenario with a microchip. That's a very low likelyhood scenario. |

Anyone from Germany here? I hear that Germany is getting close to the USSR.
For example, they're cutting greenhouse gases: - Cut industrial emissions (translation: relocating industry to China) - Cut residential emissions (translation: increase heating costs, so high people can't afford to heat their homes) |

Quoted: Quoted: Its not that bad. Its easier to choose which flavor ice cream to get when theres only one flavor. Better be vanilla or ima be pissed... Soviet ice cream was actually really good, so we’ve got that going for us. |

Quoted: Prole Life is where it's at. View Quote Have not want not. Objectively speaking, a serf had far less tax burden, had mandatory religious holidays, a community that you'd been living in for your entire life, family and a wife you'd known since birth, small chance of being called to arms, etc. Just think of how chill your life would be if you lived as if the 10mi surrounding area was your entire world. What happened beyond was of no concern to you. At least we've got modern health care. Gotta live long enough to spend a decade shitting yourself in the "retirement" home in front of a TV telling you the world is ending every second to feel modern. |

It killed their boom. They started to recover when they opened businesses in Russia to restore the monetary flow. They also are reliant on Russia for natural gas so they would be cutting off their nuts if they got Russia pissed. As the US pursues more extremists (neocon) ways, Germany will shift from the West to the East. It's only business. |

Quoted: City life is terrible and dehumanizing. View Quote View All Quotes View All Quotes Quoted: Quoted: Is suburbia really that great anyway? City life is good Country life is good Suburbia life is bland City life is terrible and dehumanizing. You may personally find it terrible and that's okay, but dehumanizing is a bit much. In Cities, people are able to socialize a lot more which is very human. They are able to live in "tribes" based on little areas (Little Italy, Chinatown, Jewish Quarters, etc). It's actually VERY human. |

Quoted: I wonder what fires in those buildings are like View Quote I was wondering that too. Also wonder how long it takes them just to get to the bottom floor when they leave. Is rent more expensive at a lower level because it's more convenient? I can only imagine how hacked together the plumbing/electrical is in these buildings. |

Everything we love and grew up with is gone. We may have found our dream and bought enough land and made enough money for our children to live the same dream out in the country but it’s just a matter of time before it’s crazy Children of Men type shit. Bury and hide shit. It may take years. It may take weeks. |

Quoted: Fucking Brutalist architecture. View Quote Devoid of aesthetic appeal, they are an assault on the eye and against beauty. Soviet architecture was intended to be efficient (in terms of material) and devoid of decadent captialist decor. Be nice if the hot water worked. If you watch the Ushanka Show, Sergi went to work in a Chicago Youth Camp and picked fruits on his days off to make extra money. He returned to the Soviet Union with a lot of money and his mother told him that they hadn't had hot water for two weeks. He had grown used to things working and hot water on demand for showers. It was the turning point in his life. He decided he would immigrate to the United States where there was always hot water. The Israelis also brought that nasty modernist blau haus(?) design to Israel. A lot of smaller buildings are just fooking ugly. That's the Soviet heritage many Soviet Jews brought with them to Izzyland. |
